Bishop looks good. Hopefully they'll also include Cable as a lead-in to the already confirmed X-Force Movie.

Why is there a "young" Wolverine? He's looked like a 40-year-old for what, 100 years now?

Wait, why is Patrick Stewart playing Xavier?  Didn't his body get destroyed in X3?  Granted his mind jumped to another, but still, his original body was Phoenix forced.

Because X3 sucked, so the less it is brought up, the better.

Bishop looks great.  Cautiously optimistic about this one....
Also, sentinels.

Ignoring X3 maybe? I prey they do... but then again, The Wolverine is set post X3 and that alone will make it suck.

Guessing that the events in the upcoming Wolverine movie will explain that.  They are a connected series after all.

If you've watched any of the trailers, you should have a good idea why that movie would lead to his gray haired appearance in this movie.

I don't remember that part. Whose body did he jump into? In the old comics, when Phoenix destroyed Professor X's body, his intellect spent some time floating in some astral plane, fighting some other being.

I think it was towards the beginning of X3 that Moira was talking about some guy that was brain dead in her lab.  That he was perfectly healthy except for being brain dead.  I don't really want to watch X3 again just to get the exact info.  Feel free to torture yourself if you want to though.

It doesn't really matter.  Days of Future Past is a history changer.  The events of the old movies are likely to be radically altered in the new timeline.

Because they're actually basing a storyline on the comics for once.  Wolverine isn't immortal, he just ages slowly.  Bishop (the dude with dreads) is from the future, I'll let you figure out why Wolverine has grey hair.

Possibly spoilery comic book cover of the story arc this is based on showing old man Wolverine:

Rumor is they are jump starting off the end of 2 and forgetting 3 ever existed and Wolverine will be somewhere before 1 but have timeline jumps linking them all in.

Funny how when you listen to comic fans on how to make comic movies they actually start to work.

I think there is sufficient evidence that X3 is being entirely ignored.

The character of General (?) Trask was played by Bill Duke in X3. He's the black guy from Predator who wasn't Carl Weathers. A Very very large and very very black fella.

In the new one, the SAME character is being played by... Peter Dinklage. A very very small and very very white fella.

I don't see how time travel fixes that. They have to be ignoring X3.

If you take a hard look at Brett Ratner's career, even all the way back to his student film, you will see that he has really done nothing except recycle other peoples' ideas.

His student film used Mason Reese as a gimmick to get noticed, he did the wacky partner thing in Money Talks, then did it again for the Rush Hour movies (using the biggest movie star in the world), he took over the Hannibal Lecter character for Red Dragon, took over the X-Men franchise, Movie 43 is like every other no-budget comedy with actual stars inserted, New York, I Love You looks an awful lot like Love, Actually, and it looks like he's got some Hercules project coming up.

Original ideas are not this guy's strong suit.  He's also not that great of a director.  How does he keep landing projects?

I'm ok with this, but I want one thing from this new movie: Bring back Cyclops and for the love of farking god, give him something to do besides fawn over Jean Grey. One of the comic worlds best team leaders and he's relegated to background status in the first trilogy. Marsden hasn't been confirmed for the new flick, so I doubt they are bringing him back, but it would be nice. He did a good job as Cyclops, they just didn't give him anything to do. He's supposed to be the one calling the shots, leading the teams, which he does somewhat in X1, but he disappears 20 minutes into X2 and dies 10 minutes into X3.

It's a time travel movie. Singer has hinted that this movie will undo a lot of x3.

I'll have to admit: I thought xmen first class was brilliant, and they should have used it for a reboot.

Ratner is not a bad director, his movies make money on a far smaller budget. Red Dragon is a pretty good movie. Rush Hour movies were fun.

Xmen3 being bad wasn't his fault. Fox forced it into production. Rater took the job becaise he knew he could get it done in the time frame Fox wanted.

Fox didn't want to wait for Singer and was upset over Singer going off to doSuperman Returns.

Because Cyclops is just like Wolverine states in the film: boring and bland.  They sold the original trilogy on the strength of Magneto, Xavier, and Wolverine's character and actors.  Everyone else is an afterthought.. and really that's okay because it worked really well for the most part.  You need leads in ensemble team films, and the appropriate people were the focus.  I wish they had more Gambit(I happened to like his appearance in Wolverine) to take some screen time away from Wolverine or give him someone more on his level to banter with, and I wish Rogue wasn't a teenage angsty biatch, but, really, they're still side characters.  Then again, I wish they also had Schreiber's Sabretooth from the beginning as well.

So much this.  They couldn't have raped the franchise more if they tried.  First Class was better, but still, I can't remember a farking thing about it either. The Cyclops and Prof. deaths were garbage (yeah, yeah, I know, infinite resurrections in comics).  I kinda hated them killing off Cyclops anyway because - regardless of what you think of him as an actor or his films - Marsden is a local boy and genuinely nice.  He used to bring his younger siblings to a place I work, and even though he wasn't getting swarmed by "ERMAGERD, CYCLERPS!" kids, he was very friendly to anyone who stopped to bug him.

I'm sure I'll get dragged out to see this one.  They picked a good storyline, but I won't hold my breath that they pull it off.  They tweaked the story for the Wolverine and the X-Men cartoon and pulled it off very well, in my opinion.  If you're more of a classic X-men fan, it's worth a watch.

I think Jackie Chan was at one time the biggest movie star in the world. It's tough to find good data, mainly because all of the highest grossing lists neglect to mention that things happen outside Hollywood.  Also, they'll name people like Orlando Bloom as a highest-grossing actor because of his parts in Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, despite the fact that he wasn't the lead in either series.

Jackie was indisputably the biggest single star outside of the USA during his Golden Harvest years.  Then he finally broke into Hollywood once and for all with Rush Hour.  I would say you could make a strong argument at that point that he was the biggest star in the world.
