Wasn't he, as AGNY also quite a vice crusader?  Of course that would explain his knowledge of how to access the top-shelf tail-for-hire.

Free market. If women have to pay for their dirty sex acts under Republican rule, men should be able to pay too.

Somewhere a Republican is upset that a Democrat is usurping his role in politics.  Likely labeling it a conspiracy to make it seem like political shenanigans can be made by both parties.

It is New York state; the Democrats kinda have to cover every base there... at least in the East.  Just like here in deep-red South Carolina, where it is the job of the state GOP to character assassinate other GOP candidates because the state Dems are about as organized as pee-wee soccer teams.

Whats the point of being a politician if you have to follow the same rules as everyone else?

The American political process is a perfect system for selecting high-functioning sociopaths. Anything less than a smooth talking, charismatic "Dexter" type character will not make it to the top.

But Spitzer once called prostitution modern-day slavery, and many people took offense to the fact that he never faced charges for soliciting prostitutes.

I don't think Ashley Dupree was some sort of poor girl from a developing country or economically depressed area of the country that had no choice but to sell her body. From what I remember, she was just some ho who wanted to sell her ass because it was easier than working a 9-5 job.

The problem with Spitzer soliciting prostitutes is not really about morality. the issue is that a person in his position should not be engaging in an activity that opens him up to blackmail by any number of parties, including the types of organized crime mofos that usually run prostitution rings.

He did not charge himself using the powers of an office he didn't hold under the laws of a different jurisdiction.

Textbook hipocrasy.

It is strange that a five year old sex scandal isn't drawing more heat.

If you don't find a way to link it to Obama, the conservatives just aren't going to show up.

One day, Republicans will figure out that "You're almost as bad as we are! Vote for us!" is not actually a long-term winning strategy.

And the Democrats will realize "be slightly less sleazy than the other guys" doesn't always work.

Actually both work due to partisan hacks being blinded by the person's party.

And no, I am not a Republican

The threads were an absolute ghost town when Spitzer was disgraced five years ago, so that backs up your assertion.

The race for NYC comptroller is usually a major national obsession so it is doubly strange that the level of attention on Fark is so depressed this year.

Surely political affiliation is the simplest explanation for the lack of interest here.

Well, it seems the partisan hackery has gone up 10 fold in the past 2 years, although it may be my imagination
