tigerose: Good Meowning! Wow! I slept like a cat last night! Eli was out on the front porch when I got up this morning. Now he is on the hassock, curled by my toes. So nice to start my day this way!

You guys were busy last night! And funny as well. I nearly spilled my coffee...horrors! :)

Fiona will not leave my side if it is raining. So much so that she followed me into the shower. I don't get dog logic. My daughter came out to visit and laughed so hard at this.

OK, you linguists!
An Englishman, a Frenchman, a Spaniard and a German are walking down the
street together. A juggler is performing on the street but there are so
many people that the four men can't see the juggler. So the juggler
goes on top of a platform and asks: "Can you see me now?" The four men
answer: "Yes." "Oui." "Si." "Ja."

Hello, everybody.  been a busy summer around the infinity household.  i've been behind on every one of my leisurely pursuits, including caturdays.   However, I feel I would be terribly remiss if I didn't make a small announcement while the thread was still open.

We have been looking for some furkids to adopt for about a month now.  We wanted to get 2, so they could keep each other company.  Without trying to be too picky about breed, color, etc.  The important part was personality and sociability with other animals.  We also wanted fairly close to same age or litter mates if possible.  Our source is the local humane society.  We made a few visits and fell for a pair of kittens, a brother and sister, only to find they had just been taken that day.  But there were more kittens at a local pet store in an adoption partnership with the humane society being the beneficiary.  There were 2 tabbies and 2 all black kitties, the one girl kitty was one of the all black ones.  She was also the shyest and most timid of the bunch.  We wanted to take her and one of her tabby brothers, but the policy was cash only and we didn't have it on us at the time.  When we called the next day, the tabby we wanted had been adopted.  I didn't want to leave the all black brother by himself, because sadly, the black kitties just don't get taken home as readily.  So we took both of the black kitties, which actually thrilled me to no end, because I love black kitties.

They've been in our house all of 22 hours so far.  I'm about to go into a diabetic coma.  I'm so glad we took one of her brothers, because the little girl would be so lost by herself.  As it is now, she's coming out of her shell more and more.  They were both sleeping under the coffee table, out in the open and not hiding under the bed.  This is a great sign.

They are 13 weeks old, already spayed and neutered, microchipped.  They look to be in very good health, they had just arrived from the foster home an hour before we saw them in the store for the first time.  It is so nice of them to let us stay in their new house, we are very appreciative.  We feed them, give them water and toys, and clean their litter box in exchange for the privilege of living with them.

I hope to have some pictures soon.  They don't sit still terribly long when they're awake, and when they sleep snuggled up, it is hard to see them and tell them apart.  I know this already, he's going to be a catnip fiend.  He can smell the sites where we used to have catnip scented pads for their predecessor and throws himself down in a frenzy of rolling and scratching.  I need to go shopping, we need more toys, beds, scratching things, whatever our exalted rulers desire.  It is going to be mild exhausting to say the least, trying to keep up with them, but so utterly worth it.

Their names are still in the process of being finalized.  I had two picked out but the boy got an excellent suggestion from my mom that I'm all but convinced will be his new name.  I'm a firm believer in the two syllable, vowel sound sound on the second beat for a cat name.

To say that I am stoked is a minor understatement.  Our house has been so empty since Binx (she was 12 when she came to us with that name, we weren't about to change it) has been gone.  I've been dreaming about cats.  I've been reading caturday with eyes welling with tears, but then I usually do when I read the sadness that is inevitable.  For once, I am glad to share some happiness.

More to come, don't touch that dial.  Really, this is the digital age.  Who knows what that thing is actually controlling, so don't touch it, m'kay?

Zomg - I just came in from doing some yahd work, plus to take some eye drops and lo, I've been gifted with TotalFark.  Wooot.  Thank you, thank you so much *genuflects*  I went to check it out and yikes, I could spend waaaay too much time in there, lulz.

Heading back out to mow my neighbor's front yahd.  Mr C has been a great neighbor for 48 years, snow blowing our driveway many a time back in the '70s when we didn't have a snow blower (with 5 kids, I guess the idea was that you shouldn't need a snow blower, built in slave labah, as we say in Neu Hampsha.)  Actually, we probably couldn't afford a snow blower, now that I think about it.   The hot weather has really gotten the crab grass and some other kind of grass (don't know what it is) that comprise a good portion of his lawn growing like a miniature jungle.  Then I'll come in and hang with the kitties.

/thanks again for the TotalFark {{{hugs}}}

*waves* Hai! Busy over here, too. Trying to do a Super Secret Lair of Infinite Doom project (rearranging my room), cleaning Grandma's room out at least part way so Mom doesn't have to dig through the medical stuff, just the happy memories and also building a couple sets of shelves and rearranging the garage - all while my Mom is on vacation. So, she should have the best vacation and return from vacation EVER, all things considered.

I am so sorry about your grandmother sweetie.  She sounds like she was a very special person and so very well loved by her family.  You and your mom sound like you are both doing what you need to do for yourselves too.  (((((((HUGS)))))))

Just catching up (hubby had back surgery Thursday and doing great -- home that night) from a busy week.  Missed all of you!  Hugs to all of you Caturday regulars and newbies and lurkers.  I really do love you all!
