OMG HEADLINE SPOILERZ!

2013-07-18 03:54:46 PM
Any time there's a "reaction" video of somebody watching something like this, it just screams fake

"Hey honey, want to watch Lord of the Rings? But can I videotape you watching the movie?"

Who the hell says "yes" to that?

She is going to be inconsolable when she finds out Henry Blake's plane was shot down.

He didn't get permission ahead of time.

I deduced this when he said, "Yeah, I've been recording you" after she exclaimed her joy at the revelation.

I should be a detective.

My kids were absolutely devastated when Dumbledore fell into the mines of Moria with the Balrog. I had to tell them that he'd be back in the next movie, I felt so bad for them.

I hope she doesn't get too attached to Harry Connick Jr in Independence Day

I was fortunate to pull this off with "The Sting"
Roommate never saw it so I just watched him during the end.  The apparent betrayal had him in disbelief. "Turned him in...sheesh." The shootout led to a shocked expression and then when it was all clear and everyone got up he was stunned all the way to the credits. He had to stare at the ceiling for a bit.

She's going to be shocked when she finds out the boyfriend whose voice said "I've been recording you" comes out of the closet. Because that's a gay man's voice right there.

As long as you didn't tell them that Snape kills Trinity with Rosebud, I think it's OK

I've never once thought, "Hey, you know what sounds like fun? I'll sit around filming people sitting around watching films. That seems like a fun Friday night."

And yet it seems to be something a growing number of people are choosing to do with their time.

People will never make sense to me.

So in the case of the Red Wedding (the most recent example), half the fun is watching other people view it.

Especially when you know what's coming.

Not a LOTR fan, because if she had read the books, she would have known.

"So I recorded my girlfriend the other day"
"Oh yeah?"
"Yeah."
"Nice."
 Was she showering?"
"No."
"Did you do it while you guys were having sex or something?"
"No man, nothing like that."
"So what was she doing?"
"Watching Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers"

"...You don't deserve a girlfriend"

2013-07-18 05:28:36 PM
Why do you all assume it's a boyfriend?

2013-07-18 05:31:29 PM
Oh for the love of Jesus Christ on a damn cracker...

TURN THE PHONE SIDEWAYS WHEN SHOOTING VIDEO. You suck.

I wonder if cell phone makers have thought about incorporating a separate camera mounted at 90 degrees into iPhones and the like so vertical videos wouldn't happen anymore. Give the option to record from both cameras so the horizontal video can be saved/uploaded and vertical video can be deleted if desired.

I did that a couple times with the film version of Mamet's "Oleanna".

I get it. If you know it's coming, you can plan ahead to film. No different than filming a prank, I suppose.

But the logic still baffles me. "I know something crazy is about to happen in this show. I better whip my camera out in case my significant other overreacts." It seems like a lot of hassle for something that might result in nothing.

Maybe I'm just lazier than most people. I only whip my phone out to catch something already in progress.

Likewise, except I think they were more caught off-guard by the Salino reveal...

Just make the sensor square and crop it based on orientation.  You're welcome.

Did she really give a damn about the story?  I mean, keeping facebook and E-mail and Pinterest open while a movie chugs away in the background and then acting like it was a big deal when the plot twisted.

My daughter, who was 4 when she first saw it, sadly exclaimed: "Gandalf! Gandalf!"

This is the modern young person's equivalent of "paying attention."

On the other hand, you're sitting around reading the comments of people who sat around watching someone who sat around filming a person sitting around watching films.

I got to Gandalf's death in the book about 1 a.m. and continued reading until it was time to go to work -- just sure he was going to show up somewhere. But by the time he did,I had abandoned all hope.
