They can use the money they save by not having to fly to the Superbowl.

As one of the commenters mentioned, I didn't realize 49ers fans could read.

Slow news. There's nothing else to really report on, so local news reports on reddit shenanigans which are copies of stuff seen on 4chan, and those articles in turn get linked on fark, which then gets picked up by your morning radio station. It's the circle of content

It's not trolling unless it's from a legit rival. They're not a legit rival unless they contend with the raised level of competition in the NFC West. At this point, the Raiders are still bigger rivals than the Hawks.

The Seahawks finished 1/2 game behind the 49'ers and split with them in the regular season.  I'm not sure you have a valid point.

Let me weigh in from up here in Seattle.  Lifeless is a farking moron if he doesn't think this is a rivalry for the ages.   There hasn't been as much football energy directed towards good old fashioned hate since Dave Craig was handing the ball off to Curt Warner.   And even then, it wasn't the Raiders (everyone hates the Raiders) it was the Broncos.

Week 2 is going to be a statement game for both teams.

Not to mention the 5 division titles the Seahawks won in the last 10 years - 2004-2007 & 2010...over the Niners (amongst others).

When you're discussing an intra-division rivalry, they do.

The last NFC West team to win the SB was the farking RAMS. I don't think that anyone can claim any sort of long term "heightening of the competition" in the division quite yet. Two close seasons are still just an aberration, not a trend.

If the Niners and Hawks both stay good for a number of years, then we can call it a legit rivalry. For now, though, it is still fairly new, and Hawks fans are still like that yappy dog next door.

You want a legit West rivalry, you have to go back to when the Niners and LA Rams were fighting for the division every year for a decade... plus the usual SF-LA hate. SF and SEA residents tend to actually like each other...

Dave Craig?

I think we found a typical Seattle fan!

Sorry Seattle, but as soon as the Rams move back to LA, you go back to being the team nobody cares about.

Not sure anyone with "WSU" in their handle has any ground to correct people's spelling.

Yeah, it's not a rivalry yet.

It does have potential, especially with Harbaugh and Carroll bringing their bad blood from USC/Stanford.

When SF was winning Superb Owls the chicken-hawks (who I've hated ever since I was a wee lad and a Raiders fan) weren't even in the NFC, and when the chicken-hawks were good SF was abysmal trying to recover from the Carmine Policy/Dwight Clark GM days of ignoring the salary cap.

/I saw the light when Big Al moved the Raiders to LA and cost them their 'mystique' been a 9er fan ever since.

I hope you intended to limit that to the NFC West, because about a decade of Ravens/Steelers being the hardest hitting rivalry in football would like word.

maybe I need to check my privilege on this, but is reddit the section 8 neighborhood of the Web?

if it takes a group of your friends to scrape together $200 can any of you really afford an F.U. brick?

/if the jets did this, I d cover all $200 for a butt fumble brick
//but for that, the jets would need their own stadium

FTFA: As of 11:50 a.m. Wednesday, redditors had already pledged $215 toward a brick. T

Wow, $215 whole dollars between all of them? And for a brick that would just get denied by the team, anyway? Way to go, Seahawks, fans!!

BEST. PRANK. EVER.

Yeah but the Steelers kinda got passed by last year. Niners/Seahawks > Steelers/Ravens in 2012 and 2013.

/Niners/Ravens have had some good matchups, too
