Electronic gadgets are cool and CES is something I always look forward to, but a story about "gadgets galore" without any pictures of said gadgets is pointless.

that Penis Shrinker will never sell. The Japanese have taken the "maker it smaller and cheaper" philosophy too far.

All variations on a theme. I want to see something really NEW!

How about:

Full size 3D displays out of button.
Paint on video displays
Heads up display on your glasses controled by eye direction and EEG wave pickups.

Now THOSE would be cool gadgets
What gadgets do you crave?

My friend bet me that someone in this decade will effectively introduce advanced robotics technology with a RealDoll. Somehow though I don't think it'll make it's debut at the Consumer Electronics Show.

I read of nothing close to a new killer app/gadget. Maybe 2005 will be more interesting.

What gadgets do you crave?

Helium fuel cells the size of a beer can that can power my car for a year.

Attention desperados: a real woman will always be cheaper than any electronic version that can fulfill the same overall full bodied sexual functions.

Well the cost will be fine until the technology catches up and the electronic version starts biatching as well.

My 8-track player/recorder works just fine, thank you.

Why, yes... I DO live in Nebraska. Why do you ask?

"Well the cost will be fine until the technology catches up and the electronic version starts biatching as well."

Nah, I'd say that part is already well developed, even my microwave nags me to open the door every minute once it's finished.

No no no no. Then we'll have no blondes/white-out/computer jokes anymore! Like, duh...!

Shell's HomeGenie networking system controls home lighting, appliances and thermostats remotely, using a cell phone, computer or handheld organizer. HomeGenie also has a motion sensor tied to a Web cam that, when tripped, fires off e-mail or instant messages to homeowners.

Now how many times have we heard the "Automatic House of The Future"? It has shown up in just about every World's Fair, there have been countless Sci-Fi stories where the technology gets out of hand and destroys its creator (e.g. Demon Seed...

And yet it hasn't happened. This "AutoHouse" will never be a "killer app" as touted by the futurists. Nobody wants to pay $3K an internet-ready fridge. Most people prefer to keept it simple. Proof? How many VCRs are flashing "12:00"? Who uses that stupid "V-Chip" in their TV?

Keep it simple to operate, inexpensive, reliable, practical and make it look "Cool" and people will beat a path to your door.

HP licenses iPod, iTunes

HP SAID it will license iPod and iTunes from Apple Computers, giving Steve Jobs' a fresh bow string and turning Carly into Carly the Cool.

No financial details of the deal were provided, but HP will throw in iTunes software into its PCs.

The deal is a boost for Apple, and it will be interesting to see if HP is the only PC firm to pick up this particular baton.

HP's version of the iPod will be introduced in the middle of the year and will use a different design.

Gadgets and... PORN.

Damn good boost for HP, too - they don't have to bust their hump to make a pallid clone of iTunes or the iPod.

Oh, and kudos to HP for picking AAC as their music format over the crummy WMV. Can we declare WMV dead in the water anytime soon? Even RealPlpayer music store will use AAC.
