She has a mental illness. Hopefully someone gets her help before she purposely breaks her back or something.

I understand that she has a serious mental illness and it is sad. I just wonder how people who faced this thousands of years ago were treated - did they just get their legs broken and die? Trepanning? Ignored?

Thousands of years ago your inability to guarantee your next meal meant you didn't get to indulge your mental illness.

Or just lock her up.  Hurting herself isn't that much of my business, but if she's driving and skiing recklessly she's a danger to others.

If an anonymous donor came along, she'd finally get some traction.

Cis-able disabled?

She's already visagely impaired.

Yup. She's definitely ill. But there's a healthy dose of "look at me!" BS involved.

One thing I really despise about the Sun is that they sensationalize everything so much it's difficult to understand if the subject of their stories is even remotely self aware.

For instance, it's possible (probably even likely since she was diagnosed) that the woman in the article understands that she has a mental disability and is getting appropriate treatment for it so that she doesn't self harm or put other people at risk. She may even be medicated or receiving therapy on a regular basis.

I think the above is actually quite likely since the article alludes to her belonging to a support group. Since it's a support group and not a "fetish group" it's likely these people realize they have something wrong with them and are trying to get help and support each other.

That's less of a sensational story, but more likely what's really happening. However, we'll never know because the Sun is a fetid rancid pustule of shiat.

/Also - the girl who actually needs the wheelchair has a super great farking rack. Too bad her face is "English Hot".

Well you know the saying "I ain't gotta outrun the bear I gotta outrun YOU" ? Well thousands of years ago having broke legs meant you was not gonna outrun your tribe mates.

Umm, yeah... Let's designate 10k for therapy and see if we can't head this problem off.

7 or 8 billion people on the planet and we are slowing down for her?
Damaged goods will always be damaged goods.  How 'bout we spend money on things that will move us forward rather than holding us back wallowing in "why would she be such a lazy, useless suck?"

500,000 kids dying of malaria every year and people actually have the time to even spend a few seconds on this heap of garbage.  What are you, stupid?

I thought the lesbian/U Haul on the 2nd date thing was just a bad joke.

Do you guys really think that this is an actual thing? It's the Sun they probably made up the story and stole a picture from flickr.

It's the Sun.  If this woman is even a person that exists, this story is probably extrapolated from her making a smartass comment about how awesome it would be to drive a wheelchair around everywhere while playing a video game or something.

People with the strange desire to have limbs lopped off pre-dates The Young Ones, I think.

would this qualify her for disability payments?

if yes - then could it be considered a sound financial move?

Twenty years from now, when her condition is accepted by the forces of political correctness as being exactly like being TS, this statement will be used to prove that you are a narrow-minded bigot. Prepare for the shame of being outcast from the herd.

Transexuals are like totes norml but this broad is off her rocker. Or something.

This woman was on Taboo a couple of seasons ago.  She has a form of body integrity identity disorder, I think.  She had convinced her co-workers and friends and such that she was disabled.  At least she wasn't like the guy in the same episode that dry iced his leg for 6 hours to force doctors to amputate it because he didn't think the leg should be there.

$16k, you gotta be kiddin me. Between youse and me, I know a guy, two grand, badda bing, badda boom, the broad only using her legs as a tv tray, everybody walks away happy, cept her.

/But seriously, why?
