(Daily Mail)   You know those headaches you have and that scratching sound you've been hearing? It could just be a tiny, little case of flesh eating maggots in your head. But hey, at least it's not lupus   (dailymail.co.uk) divider line 84

So, of course, I did that and discovered for a Halloween dish: stuffed peppers with ground beef and rice.

Yummy.

Flesh eating maggots?  Are there any other kind?  Vegan Maggots?  Foodie Maggots?

2013-07-16 11:45:14 PM
But closer inspection revealed a New World Army Screw Worm fly had laid eggs in her ear which had burrowed 12mm into ear canal

Too bad there isn't some kind of solution for that.

I love showing the bot fly videos to the ladies at work. Some run for the door, others stare in amazement.
Will have to add this one to the mix.

There's still one in there, silently reprogramming her brain.

And now you know why humans naturally abhor the fly. To think you could ever say about a genus, "The corpse-eaters are the good ones".

This is a writhing mass of them.

Too impatient.  If she'd just waited a few days, Wikipedia tells me, "Approximately three to seven days after hatching, the larvae fall to the ground to pupate.  The pupae reach the adult stage about seven days later."

That would be soooo cool if the pupae did not fall out and spent the whole 2 weeks maturing in her ear. Imagine standing there talking to someone and a half dozen flies come swarming out her head.  Awesome.

Reminds me of all the chickenshiat kids at the swimming hole.  Sure, they'd jump off the bridge or jump their bikes into the water, but ask one of them to leave a leech on to see how big it would get before it fell off?  Bunch of whiners.

I draw it at about the Mason-Dixon Line. If not north of that.

Anyone else have flashbacks to that Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark tale with the beehive hairdo and the spiders??
