"Wow, it's kinda hot and muggy here, where are we?"

"Uh....Virginia, yep...that's totally where we are Stevie."

2013-07-16 10:30:20 AM
I thought that he didn't use the stand your ground defense.

2013-07-16 10:30:32 AM
Clap your hands just a little bit louder, clap your hands just a little bit louder...

2013-07-16 10:30:42 AM
Hahahahh  I just got the headline!!!

And who gives a crap.

You have the right to stand there and die like a good little citizen.
Welcome to England.

His music still sucks and he's still blind. Good riddance. Hopefully he'll boycott the rest of the USA until they abolish the constitution.

2013-07-16 10:33:05 AM
Too bad. He never made it to SeaWorld.

He didn't, but that doesn't stop people from complaining about it.

SHUT UP AND SING

/unless you turn Republican

The 'Stand Your Ground' law simply states that if you are attacked, you are allowed to defend yourself and not just run away.  What makes this law so bad that it has to be abolished?  Does Stevie Wonder believe that if I am attacked my only legal recourse should be to run away???  Or is it that since a minor was killed and the Stand Your Ground law was blamed, BUT NOT USED IN THE TRIAL, that it has to be abolished "For the children"???

Troll alts out early, but flat.  Little disappointing, really...

Or at least one juror from using it to acquit him.

2013-07-16 10:35:32 AM
What's his issue? He didn't see shiat! nor did anyone else ...

2013-07-16 10:35:39 AM
What an idiot.  The farking state charged and tried to convict him.  Why are you pissed at Florida?  It did what it could within the bounds of the law.  The jury found traditional self-defense (not stand your ground).  The state can't do anything more. That's it.  Live with it.

Russ1642: I thought that he didn't use the stand your ground defense.

That's what's ironic about these idiots saying shiat like this, morons that rule wasn't even used in this case. Once a person uses that in their argument you know they didn't follow one second of the trial.

2013-07-16 10:35:54 AM
And I'm not going to listen to Stevie Wonder until he stops giving women herpes.

2013-07-16 10:36:22 AM
"I decided today that until the Stand Your Ground law is abolished in Florida, I will never perform there again," Wonder said Sunday while performing in Quebec City. "As a matter of fact, wherever I find that law exists, I will not perform in that state or in that part of the world."

Always loved you, Stevie, but enjoy your tour of Canada and Europe.

I'm going to change my Facebook profile picture to Trayvon Martin to support him in his protest. I hope he sees it...

Hmm, I can't see any f*cks to give over this.

2013-07-16 10:37:48 AM
Stevie Wonder won't be performing in Florida anytime soon.

Big deal.  He's not performing anywhere soon.

They didn't try that hard.

He can't see the forest for the trees.

(all I got)

2013-07-16 10:40:24 AM
Just tell him he's in Georgia, he won't know the difference

"Hello Atlanta!"
"Atlanta?"
"Forget about it, he's on a roll."

2013-07-16 10:41:08 AM
The Zimmerman decision is basically a drop in the bucket for all the reasons one could boycott Florida.

2013-07-16 10:41:46 AM
Who told him he was black?

2013-07-16 10:42:04 AM
The singer refuses to perform in the state until its Stand Your Ground law is "abolished."

Why are people blaming the stand your ground law? Stand your ground laws are GOOD for everyone but criminals. They simply mean if someone breaks into my house or assaults me on the street, I have the right to use lethal force on them rather than try to run away or hide and hope they don't catch/find me before the cops get there. Are there seriously people out there who think this is wrong?

To start a riot in LA all you need to do is yell "This is an injustice against 'insert black sounding name here'. RIOT!!"

I see what subby did there

Thunderboy: fawlty: What an idiot.  The farking state charged and tried to convict him.

They worked with what they had. It's pretty difficult to convict when you have absolutely zero evidence that the crime was committed.

No? Neither has he.

fawlty: It did what it could within the bounds of the law.

Agreed. I don't get why Prez Obama had to make the comments he did either. Trial-by-jury is one of the cornerstones of this country. Without it... Well, I shudder to think. I say we boycott Stevie Wonder.

I support it, same with the castle law...

Attack me, fark you, why shouldn't I be allowed to defend myself.

Break into my house, fark you, why shouldn't I be allowed to defend myself, my family and my home?

Well its obviously apparent he didn't watch the trial proceedings

What I read was that under 'Stand Your Ground', you have zero obligation to run.  So it doesn't matter if I'm in an alley blocked off by a 50' wall and the only way out is on the other side of my attacker or if I'm in the middle of an empty football stadium parking lot, in both cases I don't have to retreat, my first reaction legally, can be to fight back.

Wow. Bet Florida feels - (puts on shades) - blindsided.

/Yeeahhhh!

I got this freaky  old haggy neighbor, every time I come home she's watching me.  If friends come over she's out there checking out  thier cars. She peers through her blinds at me and has called the cops several times when I have had a cook out. She is a nosey biatch.

Man. Next time I see her I should slam her head against the side of the building.

I give him points for putting his money where his mouth is, even if SYG wasn't used in this case.

Personally, I feel that SYG should be akin to Castle Doctrine rather than used any place you start a fight you can't win.

Basically the precedent as I see it is: If you can enrage someone enough to attack you, you can kill them. Just pretend like you were getting your ass handed to you. Or perhaps inflict injury to yourself after the fact in order to avoid prison rape.

// Prison rape reminds me to add that IANAL.

I know more than one song, but my post looked a little light without a slashie. Sir Duke is one of my favorites especially when he played it on the Muppet Show!
