JonnyBGoode: Aisha Tyler is no Drew Carey. And she's definitely no Clive Anderson.

I'm chalking it up to initial jitters. Aisha needs to get more involved - I hesitantly use the term, "loose", but that's what pops to mind. She appears too stiff, too "MC-ish", not really in on the joke. The second-half episode saw her a bit more open & involved, but, still, it didn't seem relaxed enough.

However, I'm optimistic. The show was pretty good, and has some promise. I miss "Props", but "Sideways View" was worthwhile as a new bit (as long as they don't overuse it.) The ridiculous advertisement spacing has to go - it's hard to remain involved with the show, especially as CW is busily advertising far shiattier shows during those ad blocks.

Aezetyr: Kinda glad that I stayed tuned in.  the followup show has a really "hot librarian" looking Arielle Kebbel and 2 really hot contestants in some dating show.

//ignoring the dancing douchebags

The following show is exactly why I didn't stay tuned in.

I'm sure she'll loosen up after a nice stiff drink and a nice stiff something else. I'll make sure to help her prepare for the next taping. And after we're done taping, she can MC an episode of Whose Line.

Also, I think they need to drop Aisha's mic when she's laughing during skits. It's way too noticeable.

Lost Thought 00: IlGreven: My only real complaint: If you're gonna use the guest that much, just make them the 4th improv-er.

The actors are about as good at improve as you or I.

Many actors have some improv training as part of their acting education. In fact, many actors got their start in improv. Hell, if they wanted to stick with Walking Dead, they could have gotten Steven Yeun (Glenn from Walking Dead). He started off as a performer at Second City. He's a skilled improviser.

The other thing is that improv isn't that difficult when you're surrounded by experts. If the entire troupe is new, there can be problems, but if you're paired with an expert, they make you look good. It's their JOB to make you look good.

I think that's something in the carnival scene that Ryan and Colin did a little incorrectly, actually. Kevin made a few offers that were completely steamrolled by Ryan and Colin for the sake of cheap physical humor. Sure, it got a laugh, but it was at the expense of the scene. I don't think they would have been able to get away with that if Kevin were replaced with Wayne.

I would love to see Misha Collins as a guest on this. He's as shameless as Colin on his Twitter account.

I notice both Ryan and Wayne are Executive Producers - good for them
but not Colin - :(

some parts were a little risque for my 10 year old but we all enjoyed the show

The part where Lauren knocks Wayne on his ass is definitely going on the highlight reel.

The reason Drew Carey worked so well as a host is because it was obvious they were all friends and just trying to make each other laugh. Really made it a lot of fun. Aisha Tyler doesn't have that yet, but I could imagine her being very good once she builds a rapport with Ryan/Colin/Wayne.

Wiseass: Did not read the whole thread, but one of the funniest moments for me was when Ryan was doing his Carol Channing impersonation and broke the neon

"I'm Spartacus!"
"Do you feel lucky, punk? Well, do you?"

okay I loved it..the sideways game thing was hilarious...

and does anyone else think Wayne and Aisha are bumpin uglies?  I sensed a weird vibe between them...

Looks like WL premiered with nearly 3 million viewers, which is apparently pretty good for CW at any time of the year (much less summer), so that bodes well for the future.  It also had more viewers for the 2nd episode than for the 1st.
