I'm liking him too.  I'd like to see him on again, definitely.

Agreed; already he's brought more to the table than Kathy Greenwood ever did.... Despite being the physical opposite of her.

Riverdance Sam?
Anybody remember her?

Kevin McHale seems a little stiff, but I think it just goes to show you how easy the regulars make this look.

Okay, sideway scene is farking hilarious. I hope they do that game more often

Less commercials, more improv.

Yes.

I am thoroughly enjoying this. That McHale kid wasn't bad (though I was hoping for the basketball player).

I hope it does well enough in the ratings to hang on.

Heh-heh. "You're out of your chair! He's walking!"

I'm pleasantly surprised how well they did recapturing the old magic

Definitely. I was impressed.

My only real complaint: If you're gonna use the guest that much, just make them the 4th improv-er.

2013-07-16 09:02:43 PM
Great start. I would love to see Questionable Impressions on a future episode.

Kinda glad that I stayed tuned in.  the followup show has a really "hot librarian" looking Arielle Kebbel and 2 really hot contestants in some dating show.

eh, I can live with it. If that helps bring the format along into the 21st century, so be it.

The actors are about as good at improve as you or I.

I can't agree more.  Too much focus on the guest, let the 4 do their improve and get the audience involved.   That has been proven since the UK days.

I wasn't enjoying the guest.  It just seemed more like they were using Who's Line to advertise for other shows when they had the guest actor.

I think they'll keep it until the performers want out. That is the only redeeming show on CW. And they just sucked in anyone who's been alive and understands comedy for the last 15 years. But farking god was that hilarious. The best hour on TV this week since Newsroom sunday night.

IlGreven: My only real complaint: If you're gonna use the guest that much, just make them the 4th improv-er.

Agreed. I liked the old format where the guest performer came on for two games. Though it was the same here (not including credits), I think because the old format was: 3 games-Commercial break-2 games-CB-winner game-credits and this new format is 2 games-CB-1 game-CB-1 game-CB-credits it just seems like they use the guest more.

seriously, get rid of the commercial breaks or make it a full hour an episode (and do back to back episodes), or go back to the old format.

The material was fantastic though. God, that sideways scene was one of the best things they've done.

Meh, if they need it to draw people in and keep it on the air, I'm fine with it. Occasionally you strike gold.

OH\h man you missed the dude who had a rose belt buckle and said "if you get lucky enough maybe you can see the stem".  It was as cringeworthy as you would expect.

I just looked back at it and saw the guys prancing around. They're all supposedly straight, right?

Ill turn in next week. Need more audience member less guests but better than i expected. Also seeing Ryan and Colin made me feel old.

chevydeuce: Too bad it's on CW....I hope all 57 people that get that network enjoy the new version.

I live in Ky and I don't get CW or AMC. Time Warner has basically made it so I have to pirate the new Whose Line and Breaking Bad.
/I had to do the same with Breaking Bad last year after calling them,I did the same thing today for CW.

Both episodes were great. And they finally found a girl that can keep up with the others improv wise.

What a treat- thank you Subby, and thank you mods for posting this because I wouldn't have known otherwise.

I hope- no, pray- that Ryan at some point in a skit turns around and yells "LANA!"

/the sideways bit was farking gold

This new "intro" seems overly explain-y to me. I do hope they get rid of it soon, and go to something way simpler and shorter.

Rewatch the first two seasons of Drew's Whose Line, he did the same thing then he just kinda went with "eh, fark it. Its just something we brought over from the British, you know what we do"

Just caught it on the west coast feed. It was great. However there were too many commercial breaks. And are they going to have a special guest ever episode though? Because that would be pretty dumb. That Glee dude was good, but he was in more bits than that Helen girl. Just make the fourth guest the "special" guest then. I mean really. It's sort of silly otherwise. Aisha was pretty good as host and with a little more experience she'll be great.

2013-07-17 12:26:09 AM
Aisha Tyler is no Drew Carey. And she's definitely no Clive Anderson.
