lesliessexxy: My favorite skit was one of the "Questions Only" games, where they were doing the Godzilla spoof and Wayne Brady was running and said "Please help  me?"

I hadn't laughed so hard ever.  Until Ryan fell in to Drew's desk.  That was amazing.

I love the questions only game.  The one that sticks in my mind was a wild west themed one, and I think Colin was all like, "Don't you know that Black Bart is in town?"  Then later on when Wayne came out he was like, "Is somebody looking for Black Bart?"  Thanks, subby, for the reminder the new episodes start tonight.

♫Oooooooooooh ay de di de di de di de di de diiiiiiii♫
I went onto fark.com one day
Saw a thread about me
panic flashed on my face
I thought I had to pee
I read the story 'bout myself,
I couldn't help but smile,
The headline was so spot on,
Why do I taste bile?

StrikitRich: BTW, just saw Colin Mochre on the Canadian remake of Match Game.  Wish they'd given him more time.

I am so farking old I can remember being home sick from school and watching "Match Game" in the '70s with Gene Rayburn - and everyone on there was either drunk or stoned or on SOMEthing. Funniest farking daytime show.

The level of sexual innuendo was off the charts.  And Gene's phallic microphone.  Charles Nelson Reilly in an ascot and yachtsman cap, the crazy middle-aged actresses (Brett something??) flirting with everyone, etc.  Ah, the 70s.

I'm much younger and watched it when it was on GSN all the time in college.  I don't have access to GSN anymore but it looks like it's still on weekdays at 8AM.  Fire up that DVR for some nostalgia if you've got it.  There's also a best of DVD with 30 episodes that I got for 5 or 6 bucks at a used book store.

One of my favorite episodes was the one where Richard Simmons guest starred. Oh my GOD I about
peed myself I laughed so hard. He and Wayne Brady were the props and the scenario was a husband
and wife on vacation in some tropical paradise.

Priceless.

Has anybody mentioned the Richard Simmons sketch yet? That was great.

I live in the one area that has the one stupid cable company (TWC) that puts it at such a high channel I will never get to that level of caring enough to pay that much for cable.

/I have a cheap, grandmothered plan to die for, but no GSN. Sigh.

The Canadian show is about as close a copy as you could get...think even the music is recycled.  The panelists even try to play the same roles as the original cast, but not as well, of course.

Dick Debartolo, who wrote for Match Game, plays the game on Saturday afternoons on the TWiT network.  You answer the questions on the IRC channel

Glad they're bringing it back. Probably not as raunchy as the British version, but if seeing Ryan on their live show (with Jeff, Chip, and Joel Murray) is any indication, my sides are going to hurt.

I'm disappointed they didn't bring back greg proops. Other than that, I'm excited

Glad Colin is going to be there.  My daughter had a bit part in one of his shows years ago and got to meet him.  He's a really nice person.

Did not read the whole thread, but one of the funniest moments for me was when Ryan was doing his Carol Channing impersonation and broke the neon

Will it not be anywhere near as good as the British version? Will the host drag the whole thing down like Drew did on the first American version? Will it be the same three guys and a revolving forth guest the whole time like the American version?

PASS. The American version sucked compared to the British version.

FrancoFile: I don't like the way Aisha Tyler's hair looks in the previews.  She's a smart, funny, and hot chick - but that wavy shag thing has to go.

I'd shag her wavy, iffy ya know what I mean.

But seriously, why premiere this against the All Star game?

That's like passing on a steak because the last one you had that was produced by a different restaurant was awful.

I just wish they'd get more younger improvisers into the mix. I mean, I love(d) Colin and Ryan, but it's been a very long time... let somebody new have a chance. There is a huge network of improvisers out there. Go to Second City, iO, Annoyance, UCB, or even ImprovBoston (my home theater) or others and scout some new talent.

When this show was firing on all cylinders, it was one of the funniest ever aired. I thought my dad would seize watching the RIchard Simmons episode, he was laughing so hard.

Am I just an anal-retentive nerd for getting angry every time someone refers to "the original show" when they're talking about the Drew Carey version?

did you even watch the British version? because it was exactly like that.

I'm gonna go think outside the box, if ya know what I mean.

That Richard Simmons episode was one of the funniest things I've ever seen.  Just amazing.

According to Colin's reddit AMA yesterday, they didn't do any irish drinking songs and only 1 hoedown. I'm sad.

But I'm looking forward to it!

Hooray for Whose Line!
Hooray for me watching an 'original' show on the CW for the first time ever!

This is probably at least 50% of the reason the show has come back.

I vote for without.

Also, I didn't realize that we were getting two episodes tonight back to back. Bonus.

So, after watching a few old episodes earlier in grainy sub-SD streaming online and then seeing this in calibrated 1080i...

...it's hard to believe that Ryan and Colin are only one year apart. Colin looks OLD. Ryan barely looks older than he did on the original episodes.

Wayne looks exactly the same, minus the newly douchey goatee.  Aisha Tyler is just hot.

As far as the show itself, it feels exactly like the old episodes. Ryan, Colin, and Wayne haven't missed a beat.

...now we have Lauren Cohen in a TWD-inspired sketch. Awesome.
