I predict the quality of goods to plummet, prices will rise, long time employees will be fired, and the whole thing will go Circut City within 5 years.

I thought they booted the old guy.

It's time he spent more time in polo shirts and golf slacks. Provided they aren't playing "weekend at bernies"

On one hand, I think it's a terrible indictment of the modern corporate world that the founder and face of a company for decades can be fired by the board from the company he defined. OTOH, he signed the damn papers to take it public so:

I saw the commercial and immediately noticed the lack of the tagline.....

/don't own a suit, but wish now that I'd bought one from MW while the old guy was still around

Fun Facts about Men's Wearhouse George Zimmer "I guarantee it ."

Beyond creating a successful men's retail chain, Zimmer is known as something of a cowboy in the business world. He added spiritual leader Deepak Chopra as a board member in 2004 and spent millions of his own money in 2010 supporting California's failed Proposition 19 to legalize marijuana. Men's Wearhouse also didn't conduct criminal background checks on hires because Zimmer believes everyone deserves a second chance.

this move is going to bite them in the seat of their trousers big time. lots of young guys can't afford better suits and need a good rotation for the work week. shooting for the trendy, hipster and well heeled who already shop elsewhere will not fare well.

I hope Mr.Zimmer opens another line of stores and buries them.

Dr.Mxyzptlk.: ... Men's Wearhouse also didn't conduct criminal background checks on hires because Zimmer believes everyone deserves a second chance.

That's actually pretty cool. Too bad the policy will be revoked after the MW Serial Killer is revealed to have worked at Men's Wearhouse.
