What is with this recent flood of headlines literally cryin' about MSNBC? Newsflash: we actually live in reality, you don't get to pretend that Fox and MSNBC are totally the same thing.

Jackson Herring: What is with this recent flood of headlines literally cryin' about MSNBC? Newsflash: we actually live in reality, you don't get to pretend that Fox and MSNBC are totally the same thing.

This.  It's this bizarre thing on the right: they simultaneously gloat about how low MSNBC's ratings are and how it's about to go under, and protray it as this all-powerful source of liberal propaganda. I have no idea how it could be "dangerous" when no one is watching, though.

Simply put, they hate that our propaganda is out there against their propaganda. It reminds them we are not a hive mind.

If you want to have an arms race, you have to make the other side look like a threat.  Al-Jazeera keeps doing real news, so MSNBC seemed a better choice.

I saw MSNBC lurking in my bushes last night.  When I confronted them, they ran away.

Wake me up when MSNBC sues for the right to lie...and wins.

I mean that specifically in the last week or so there seem to have been a LOT more headlines submitted about MSNBC.

"Fair and balanced" doesn't work anymore so now it's time for the "both sides are the same" strategy.

I don't believe any were mine, or if they were, they were incredibly tongue-in-cheek

but I've noticed the same thing too. And its not just the headlines, comments from people here and people on NPR and the like too. I realize we joke about the RNC sending out talking points to everyone but it really does seem like it when stuff like this happens

Both sides are bad so vote Fox.

Yeah that's what I don't get about conservatives. For example Glenn Beck's crappy TV Network doesn't get a blip on the ratings radar and you never hear Libs laugh about how bad The Blaze is while crying about how "destructive" it is to America.

It's like how the Freepers think Obama is a Kenyan/Marxist/Arab/Communist/Nazi/Elitist when he can't be all of them at once.

I agree with 2/3 of it. The only thing I disagree with is the CNN statement. I only think CNN is half retarded but at least they make the biggest attempt to call things down the middle. While they often do a shiat job of being neutral, they're not nearly as far left as BSNBC is. I'll watch Fox for Shepard Smith and Neil Cavuto because they seem the least right wing on Fox. Other than that I'll watch CNN when I'm actually bored enough to watch the news.

Republicans and conservatives are complaining that liberals are doing something they don't like. I give it about a 99.9999999% chance that Fox News and/or the ones complaining about MSNBC's actions are guilty of doing those very actions.

In the same way that a papercut and a sucking chest wound are both injuries, yes.

MSNBC farted in the elevator, blamed the guy behind it and then walked off on the next floor.

Kinda like how the right portays Obama as a king and at the same time criticize him for not using his kingly powers.

Cognitive dissonance and all that...

It appears the right obsesses over the programming of MSNBC far more than what should be the target audience. I dare say they probably know the schedules, lineup, and backgrounds of all the hosts. It reminds me of Whitesox fans who obsess over every move the Cubs make.

Recently cut our cable services so the absolute shiatstorm that is cable news doesn't make it on to my tele screen.
I thought the house would be cleaner & i would get more alternative tasks done, turns out i just read more.

But i'm really not missing it, especially the Infotainment wars.

No. Because if they really were biased towards the left, Keith Olbermann and Ed Schultz would still be employed there.

Right or left, I think everyone can agree that Olbermann is insufferable and his attitude has a lot to do with his departure from msnbc

Dangerous?

A news channel, none of whose minor subsidiaries have sued for the right to shade the truth, is dangerous?

Omg MSNBC isn't biased to the left because there aren't enough lefty people on there!

All this MSNBC/Fox News/CNN bullcrap will be gone in two decades, anyway. As far as I can tell, no one under 30 has ever watched cable news. Unless you count the Daily Show. Which you shouldn't.

2013-07-15 03:33:42 PM
Its fun to pick on MSNBC because they are not that good at what they do and putting up a 'liberal' network opposition to fox news just does not work.

/Rachel Maddow is still an outstanding exception.
