I think that's good luck.  But I forget my wedding superstitions.

"It all just came out at the last minute," the bride's 92-year-old grandmother, Josephine DeLuccia told The Journal News and Lohud.com. "He always seemed like a nice guy. I don't know what happened. You men are all alike. You stink. I hope they send him to jail forever."

Hahahahahahaaaa!

"I'm brokenhearted for her," the grandma cried. "She doesn't deserve this. She's such a beautiful, smart girl."

And if it turns out that the 16-year-old girl is not telling the truth, then I feel a little worse for the guy wrongfully accused, what with his life destroyed and all.

Call me a purist, but I thought the headline was funnier when it was posted by a Farker as a comment when the article was greenlit yesterday.

Probably just me though.

ferretman: Jealous student?

I thought that until I got to...

Tony Castro, Azabache's lawyer, told the Journal News after Friday's court proceeding: "I just want to note that what he's being charged with does not involve any forcible compulsion. It involves an alleged incident with a minor, someone who is just under 17 years old.",

...which doesn't seem like a very positive statement as opposed to "My client maintains his innocence, unlike the accuser"

While the rape might be just statutory in nature depending of the laws of the state, I am guessing that most women still wouldn't be keen on marrying a guy who cheated on them with their 16 year old student.

Why any adult would bother to be a teacher I'll never know. It's like if you reduce their pay to insanely small sums, vilify them, scapegoat them, and generally make the profession unattractive the only people you get to be teachers are those who get off on rapeing children.

Talk about a reluctant bride or was it the groom? DNRTFA

Actually, Grandma should be happy for her. She just dodged one hell of a bullet. Imagine if it had all come out after the wedding. For starters, she'd be tied to all his legal bills, not to mention the emotional toll.
