FriarReb98: Alphax: Or 'The Show Must Go On'.

Start with Who Wants To Live Forever, everyone mopes for 90% of the episode (probably with Wish You Were Here and Candle in the Wind mixed in), end the show with The Show Must Go On.

It's a tossup between "Cups" and "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life".

/and have GRRM co-write the episode

Cory Monteith @CoryMonteith

...so... what did I miss?

2013-07-14 11:20:54 AM

paulseta: To many millions of Americans, Cory Monteith was the prophet of their crusade for musical equality. He was their voice of anguish, their eloquence in humiliation, their battle cry for human dignity. He forged for them the weapons of nonviolence that withstood and blunted the ferocity of music criticism.

And to many millions of Americans, he was one of a group of performers who preserved the bridge of communication between musical subcultures when musical differences threatened the United States in this decade, as Glee performers and their fans sought the full freedom pledged to them before by Lady Gaga, Madonna, N-Sync, and Milli Vanilli.

To the world Cory Monteith had the stature that accrued to a potential winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, a man with access to the White House and the Vatican; a veritable hero in the African states that were just emerging from colonialism.

In his dedication to non-violence, Monteith was caught between Glee and normal music extremists as musical tensions erupted into arson, gunfire and looting in many of the nation's cities during the summer of 2013.

Militant Glee fans, with the cry of, "burn, baby burn," argued that only by violence and segregation could the Glee fan attain self-respect, dignity and real equality in the United States.

This is awesome.

"The Show Must Go On" by Queen seems like the obvious choice.

Pink Floyd's  version seems much more dramatic, Glee could easily take it over the top to fierce.

Given that there weren't people there, and the media didn't mention the cause of death, it was probably suicide. That leaves a) mental illness, b) long-standing issues, or c) drug-induced stupid. A and C are the most likely unless someone comes forward with a story about B. Drugs  will make you suicidal in some cases, and with illegal drugs, it's nearly  impossible to know how your neurochemistry will react to it, or whether it's been cut with something bad, or any of the other thousand factors involved.

So...yeah, drugs were probably involved in this. That's why people are saying 'don't do drugs'.

/Personally, legalize and tax 'em all, but if you don't have any way to know what's going in your body, DON'T FREAKIN' TAKE IT.

Isn't it possible that it is another death hoax?  Someone who knows him, tweeted Nyou're

I know you usually make a habit of being like Ned from the FedEx commercial (always wrong) in the Politics tab but damn it, girl; the man's been an addict since his teens, was found dead in a hotel room where staff knew who he was, and police confirmed the dead man's identity...

$459 a night for their lowest priced rooms, hardly a motel.  Fairmont is a pretty nice group of hotels and Vancouver is a pricey city too.

I work in the hotel industry, and most of you wouldn't know what a crappy day is like when someone dies in your building.  Of course, it's not as bad as it is for the deceased but finding a dead body in a hotel room is freaky!  Had one guest hang themselves, walked in with them looking at the door when I opened it after they missed their check-out time.  Still have the occasional nightmare of that one.  Had another time when police shot a guy in a domestic dispute.  The 3rd one was a heart attack in the elevator.

Huh? The media hasn't mentioned a cause of death because the police quite specifically said during their press conference that "there was no obvious cause of death". That actually suggests it was not a suicide because he didn't hang himself, shoot himself, slit his wrists, or anything that would be an "obvious cause of death." In other words, he either died in his sleep or collapsed in his room.

He got back to his room really, really late, and somehow his heart stopped. Given his almost 20-year history of substance abuse, it's more likely that he had a bad relapse post-rehab, or was felled by some undiagnosed health condition that took him by surprise.

I wasn't fond of his Glee performances, but it seem by all accounts he was a genuinely decent person and all around good guy. He seemed to have a positive outlook and a bright future ahead so this is definitely sad and disappointing news, and must be devastating to his family.

Bungles: Maggie_Luna: rynthetyn: Boghoss: rynthetyn: Yeah, don't do drugs, kids.

Wonder how Glee's going to write it into the story. Guess it'll give Lea Michelle a shot at an Emmy though.

Since the show is aimed at younger kids, hit by a car is my guess. Or a sharknado - that might be the way they go, knowing the show...

Well, this is the show that did a gay teen suicide attempt plot as a ratings ploy, I don't think you can rule out them going dark.

He goes missing? There was an awkward episode of Suddenly Susan where one of the cast members died and his character in the show just went missing and everyone sat around remembering him. Though that wouldn't really be easy to make into song. I'm not that old (mid twenties) but sometimes I wonder what the heck I watched as a kid because half of them were shoes for middle aged women.

/never watched Friends or Sex and the City though
//Did watch Seinfeld and Cheers though, barely watch TV now
///My lawn get off it once I have a mortgage

His death if drug related I would think is probably like Brittany Murphy, sudden but drug related or related to effects of drugs on the body. That or they'll pull an Amy Winehouse and wait for a while for the 'truth' to come out, if at all.

Nate's wife simply vanishing unexplained in Six Feet Under for a season was one of it's best plots.

Yeah but she didn't die in real life, which I thought was kind of the point there.
