Tulsa, Oklahoma.

That's all well and good, but I'm not gonna travel halfway across the country into the very beating heart of tornado alley just to get a dog. It's a road trip I'm neither willing nor able to make.

/someone closer to Tulsa than me should adopt those dogs

Jack Russells are super, super smart dogs.

BUT

You have to train them. You have to make sure they are well trained and well exercised, or you have a small, yappy, bitey dog.

I had a poorly trained but well exercised Jack Russell in my youth. She was the sweetest, most loving thing, and because she was basically a free range chipmunk assassin, she got enough exercise. But no one ever taught her not to bark when someone came home, or someone left, or an animal was outside, or on TV, or a leaf fell from a tree, or she was breathing.

Hopefully, somewhere over the rainbow bridge someone has taught her the value of saving her voice.

aaaaand now I'm teary. :(

They're a lot easier to deal with if you get two or three.  They're more than happy to keep each other occupied, and they form strong bonds.
