To be fair to Republicans, I will be using the screenshot from this tweet to convince a few Republican girlfriends of mine that their political party literally wants them to die in back alley abortions. Taking away both their birth control AND their access to safe medical options for their reproductive health.

Hey, if they get to cheat by making their kids dumber, I get to cheat by taking advantage of same kids' lack of critical thinking skills.

I told this before, but it's relevant.

My grandfather was a doctor, and taught doctors in medical school. He was pro-choice for one simple reason. He saw what desperate women did because they couldn't get safe, legal abortions. The sort of damage they did to themselves was horrible enough that he knew abortions had to be legal if only to stop that kind of mutilation.

I've heard that same thing from a lot of older doctors.

I knew Republicans were screwed up individuals.  I knew that they lacked all sense of empathy and decorum.  I knew that they are, by and large, a bunch of assholes that were likely the bullies you had to deal with back in school, grown up to be the petulant little shiats you always knew they'd be.

But this struck even me by surprise.

One of his later tweets was "If I can't laugh at y'alls hyperbole, what can I laugh at?"

Even if it's fake, it's still pretty disturbing.  And I say this as someone who generally leans pro-life.

Erick Erickson's office has already released a statement addressing this, but please. Go on being outraged.

Predictably, pack-mentality liberals have already begun to attack me for a Tweet I sent last night. It saddens me that intelligent dialogue and real discussion of important issues must always be overtaken by faux outrage, fake concern, and partisan attacks, but instead of returning the low insults and ad homonem attacks being flung in my direction, I will, as the Bible instructed us all to do, 'turn the other cheek' and undertake the effort to lead this discussion to higher ground. I shall, in other words, endeavor to turn an off-the-cuff, hyperbolic statement I made -- a statement that is now being inflated and given dire meaning that I never intended -- and turn it into an opportunity for the various sides in this important matter to come together and talk. I fear that the same liberals now attacking me will choose to ignore this and focus instead on their poison barbs and arrows, but such is, unfortunately, all too often the nature of political discourse in this country. We all deserve better than that, though, and I will do what I can to lead in that direction.

Ironically, the mature response I am now demonstrating is precisely the sort of mature, thoughtful reaction all pro-life citizens wish women would display toward their unborn children. Becoming pregnant is, of course, a gift from God, but we all recognize it can also bring unexpected hardship, discomfort, and even, at times, unhappiness and despair. It can bring these things in much the same way that my Tweet last night did. But in the same way that I have not chosen to respond to those negative consequences through anger (by attacking my attackers) or denial (by deleting my Tweet), so too can women who've put themselves into a situation involving an unwanted pregnancy also learn to find a high ground, a way to turn their unborn -- and, at the moment, unwanted -- child into a blessing. I hold myself up, in this, as a model, and hope that at least some women now struggling with what appears to be a dark time can take from my actions some inspiration.

Thank you, and may God bless even the most angry of you.

That's a shiatload of projection.

Blues_X: That's a shiatload of projection.

Right-wingers do this shiat all the time.  They say something horrifying and provocative, get the response that is appropriate to a statement that horrifying and provocative, then say "These libs are so angry!"

It's like someone walks up to you and calls you an asshole and says your mother is a whore, so you punch them in the face.  Then they say "What's wrong with you?  I just wanted to start a conversation!"  Erickson went well over the line with his initial tweet, so he can't now say "I'm going to be mature, not like you libs!"  Too late to walk it back, douche.

2013-07-13 09:33:40 AM
Or maybe a better example relative to this: It's like someone walking up to you, calling you an asshole so you punch him, and then saying "See!  I only did that to prove how violent you libs are!"

In other words, this scumbag does not get to claim that libs fell for his cunning plan after the fact.

Further proof that it's about punishing women for having sex, not saving lives.  They don't care if women have abortions - they just want them to suffer for it.

It should be given a name, something like "Malicious Goldfish Syndrome."

It doesn't remember anything from more than a few seconds ago, and it doesn't have the capacity to think about the future, it just knows libs bad and food comes twice a day.

As long as abortion is legal federally, I don't care if one state or another wants to ban abortion. If you don't like the people you live around, move.

Nashville used to be one of the bibly-beltest cities in the country and now gay people can go on stage and tell jokes.

Link is farked. Just like Texas.

Honestly, regression seen as victory is pathetic. And pro-lifers should spend some time working towards bettering the lives of unwanted children stuck with resentful and unprepared parent(s) whose mistake has devestated them emotionally and financially.

Or are just hoping to boost the unskilled prole population?

Evil, shortsighted assholes.

@EWErickson It's hardly hyperbole when thousands of dangerous abortions occur when abortion is criminalized/limited

Erick Erickson  @EWErickson
@_amandatweets And all by choice, not necessity.

The suffering is a feature, not a law in his twisted opinion.

He should stick one of those in his ear because he obviously made a mistake and needs to abort what is left of his brain so no one has to suffer the rest of their lives with the burden of knowing he is alive.

My Sincere Apologies to the Kid Killing Caucus
By: July 13th, 2013 at 02:16 AM  |

I must offer up my sincerest apologies to the kid killing caucus that took it on the chin or other body parts in Texas last night.

After days on end of abortion supporters in Texas holding up coat hangers and then, yesterday, throwing feces, urine, and tampons in defense of killing kids, I tweeted out a link to a coat hanger wholesale store.

The kid killers were offended.

Now, I expected them to be offended because I was mocking their hyperbole. But they actually seem to think I was seriously suggesting some policy for the GOP.

I am so sorry. I forget that feminists and other pro-abortion activists really are as humorless as they are stereotyped to be.

In the future, I promise I'll remind myself constantly you people really believe throwing tampons and raising coat hangers can stop the will of the people who overwhelmingly support prohibiting late term abortions. And I will act accordingly.

In the meantime, again, you have my apologies for offending you for thinking I was being serious instead of accurately realizing I was mocking you and your outrageous hyperbole and lies.

Pocket Ninja: Go on being outraged.

Thank you, PN, I will continue to be outraged.  Outraged that anyone thinks that women's rights are silly or unneeded, and that a clump of cells is exactly equivalent to you.  That "statement" (If by "statement" you mean "dripping cockroach diarrhea from his moldy mouth full of sores) is just more of the same condescending, patriarchist, bullshiat Splenda-glurge that completely embodies the absolute disregard for human life that EE embodies.  There was nothing respectful or "higher road" in that "statement".  No turning of the cheek, unless you mean "Look at this other ass-cheek! Wanna kiss it?"

"Blessing from God"  Every rape and incest victim is glad to know that. What a relief.  "Cause dismay and discomfort". Nice way of describing death from toxicity, eptopic pregnancy, septicemia, ecclampsia, hemmoraging, stroke, etc.  And that's when you  want the baby.

And that last, "God's blessing on you all"  Is that a threat?  Is he going to come to my house and give me a "blessing"?

Yeah, Imma cling bitterly to my outrage, and so will the rest of us, right to November 2014.

2013-07-13 10:19:30 AM
That's farked up, over the line, and exactly what I would expect from the juvenile FOX trolls all trying to scam outrage bucks from the rubes.

It's a symptom of the clickbait era. Come see this ONE WIERD TRICK to piss off liberals! Come see the secret methods the DNC doesn't want you to know!

And by talking about it we're feeding right into it. God dammit.
