When you spell "clenis" it automatically writes "Chyna" immediately after.

So, if your handwriting is bad, the pen vibrates, and this is supposed to improve handwriting, how?

Wouldn't it just continue vibrating until one stops writing entirely?

Pen is vibrating?

2013-07-12 08:41:03 PM
So, once you misspell a word in permanent ink, it will then tell you it is incorrect though there is nothing you can do about it? And when it detects that your handwriting is getting sloppy, it vibrates?

Sounds farking brilliant.

There's no one correct way to spell it. It's just a made up word, you can spell or pronounce it any way you like.

At the age when I was learning handwriting and spelling I would have loved one of these things, but it wouldn't have helped me to learn handwriting and how to spell, it would have been a "toy".

Ya know, if some of my farking teachers would have believed me when I said pencils made my hands itchy BECAUSE I AM ALLERGIC TO CEDAR I would probably have developed better handwriting skills. But noooo, no one had ever heard of something like being allergic to cedar, here use these cedar pencils with the little grips so you can clamp down harder as your skin tries to expel the cedar oil. Oh, I know you like that mechanical pencil, but we can't let you use those since the other students don't have them (circa 1987-88, before cheapo Bics).

I my stride I can type faster than I can talk, without looking at the screen. fark your writing.

/If I had a time machine I would have killed my grandfather.

If it vibrates at a frequency to perfectly cancel out my vodak shaking hands, I'd buy it.

2013-07-12 08:59:31 PM

Some say our reliance on spell check has turned us into horrendous spellers and typing has worsened our handwriting,

And farming has ruined our hunting abilities.
And industrialization had ruined our farming abilities.
And office work has ruined our industrial skills.

We must hold on to our outdated crap... to make cranky old men not feel obsolete.

I tell you what, my daughter has a toothbrush that sings Justin Bieber songs while she brushes.

THAT would be some incentive to correct my handwriting.  Justin Bieber pen, effective.  Vibrating pen, not so much.

I once worked for a very big company and my dept. had hired a (male) summer intern to make a small computer app (on Windows) that would show the different company divisions, org charts, rank classifications, and all that -- supposedly as a guide to promotions, career paths, division projects, etc.

Well, dammit if this intern didn't name his application the "Career Leverage Implementation Tool."  It said that when you started it up.

This became a running joke throughout the department.  AFAIK no one ever told him.  (In his defense, I don't sure English was his native language.)
