You know, that's where I'm getting to with all these asinine Neanderthal state legislatures.  I'm getting to the point of not caring.

At this point, everyone has to be aware that this is the type of shiat you are going to get if you keep voting for Republicans.  If the women and minorities and moderates in these states (and there are certainly enough of them to make a majority coalition) have had enough of this kind of nonsense, they should stop voting for hard-right Republicans.  If instead the people of those states keep voting in these assholes, then I'm increasingly of the mindset of, oh well, they deserve what they get.

Hahahhahahahhaha... This is amazing. Also, I just found this out from my mom, who called me furious about this.

Nice job, GOP. You lost the old white ladies who don't even need tampons anymore.

Yes, a 50%+1 majority of far right scum means that everyone else is also complicit and should suffer unlimited horrors at the hands of the "legitimate representatives". That is not stupid at all.

On the one hand, I'm absolutely disgusted that Texas continues to be a laughingstock world wide because the GOP in this state is taking pants-on-head retarded misogyny to a level I never thought possible.

On the other hand, this situation gave us the best use of the "PLUG" tag ever.

So I'm torn.

Looks like the red lobby has spoken, and tampons are free again!

Wasn't there someone who suggested that might be a pattern with someone? Didn't they catch all manner of abuse for it?

Officers clarified that the list of items not permitted in the gallery was not new and that the confiscations were an effort to maintain the "rules of decorum".

Yeah, I wonder if they're going to be so excited about the rules when a menstruating angry woman pulls an L7 on the Speaker...

She could follow up with her stained chonies to see if they got the point the first time around.

Women make up the majority of the population (even in red states) and the majority of the electorate.

If women, Hispanics, blacks, gay people, etc. in these states have had enough of being victims of racist, sexist, horrible Republican policies, they have the numbers to make it stop.

It's not even a 50% + 1 majority for the GOP. Through gerrymandering, some states have Dems to GOP votes at a ratio of 7:5 and the GOP still come out ahead. So it could well be the demographic majority could be under the control of a demographic minority, due to redistricting.

fark the GOP.

What if it was a gun that shot tampons?

2013-07-12 05:57:42 PM
I suppose it would be inappropriate at this juncture (since they've stopped blocking feminine hygiene products) to suggest that anyone who was planning to bring a tampon to throw at the right-wing pieces of shiat should just bring a gun instead...

2013-07-12 05:57:58 PM
To be fair, if they're not going to allow tampons, they had BETTER allow guns.

I'm pretty sure the Bible says something along the lines of a woman currently needing a tampon not being allowed in public; and that any man who touches her is ritually unclean.

They're just looking out for the poor Texas legislators who've never encountered free-range adult women before.

I almost hope someone flings a used tampon at that stupid "rape kits clean you out!" woman.

Everyone knows if a woman is carrying tampons, it's her time of the month. Now multiply that by dozens or even hundreds of women.

They are simply trying to keep a bunch of PMSin' women from entering and hen pecking the Senators to death.

HAHA! Because women are totally irrational creatures who can't be expected to control their emotions, that is so funny!!

2013-07-12 06:05:11 PM
When a woman has her regular flow of blood, the impurity of her monthly period will last seven days, and anyone who touches her will be unclean till evening.

They're just following Leviticus subby.  There is no mention of a restriction of guns in the Bible.

It's not that simple, doc. They vote for Republicans because they may agree with them on Issue A & B, but not really sure about Issues C & D. I refuse to believe that every last person who votes Republican just adores this little display of jackassery. On top of that, the culture of the GOP is against anything that might be construed as being "politically correct." That culture also says that if you speak up against your leadership, you're a traitor. It truly is the party of bullies

But saying that I am complicit in their actions is absurd. I vote, I campaign, but man, some people are never going to change. And suggesting that they re-think their world-view is like asking them to suddenly turn into an atheist muslim socialist fascist. It's just not that simple.

On another note, popcorn to the first person who tries to defend the lady-equipment confiscation. I seriously just.... I can't wait!

The American people made the decision to "punish" the Democrats who were in power over the GOP created recession, giving the GOP the gerrymandering pen in 2010.  If we are that stupid, we deserve a decade of GOP rule.

Yes, it's a very good thing that Texas doesn't have gerrymandering that makes the votes of people who object to stuff like this worth about 1/4 of what a standard Republican vote is worth. And it's certainly true that there are no Republican women who don't give a tinker's damn about women. Sen. Jane Nelson totally cares about other women and babies and stuff because, as we all know, all women think exactly the same way, just like men. You never see guys in politics disagree about anything.
