I wonder if the judge will just tell the defense to shut up so we can get on with the convicting!

After all is said and done, I can't imagine how GZ could be convicted.  Dr. Phil needs to take his powerpoint and go home.

Casey Anthony's lawyer stated that he wouldn't be charged with the 2nd degree murder but most likely will be convicted of the manslaughter ccharge..

What's the over/under on how long the Jury will be out for deliberations? I'm thinking they'll be out for 3-4 hours at most, or out no later than 5 pm Eastern.

Quick verdict is usually acquittal.

This is it fellow travelers. The final day of court: closing, instructions, and the charge to the jury. I'd like to take this moment to say I've enjoyed watching the trial with everyone that's been here since the beginning, and even a few of you we've picked up along the way.

That's not the reason I'm hoping for no verdict today.

But, in my experience, the longer the jury is out the better it is for the defendant.

However, I think the opposite is true in this instance.

Boojum2k: After seeing Pacific Rim last night, I now wonder what Judge Nelson's kaiju name is.

I also saw pacific rim last night. Just like this trial, the fight scenes and explosions were wonderful, but the plot was hokey, the characters formulaic, and the acting was terrible.

I was a juror on a major felony trial earlier this month, and let me tell you, it's exhausting. Our trial only went two days, and that was far too long (and way too many pictures of a naked fat man... don't ask), so I can't imagine how frustrated and tired the jurors in this case must be. Unless there is some jurors who muck up the works, I would guess they will want it over with today, and will return their verdict as soon as they can. Not saying they will rush to judgment, but coming to a consensus ASAP.

If the jury comes back with an acquittal, I would not be at all surprised if Nelson sends them back to re-deliberate.

That affidavit of probable cause was based on the racism George Zimmerman exhibited in a selectively edited video of the 9-11 call that NBC put together.

They might get a choice as to deliberating over the weekend. If I were them, sequestered for around a month, I'd want to deliberate straight through until we got to a verdict and going home.

It's not the hug that's creepy, it's the leg humping that comes with it.

Has the judge instructed the jury that they can consider the charge of "being a fat loser with an inferiority complex and a gun whose unnecessary actions led to somebody's death"?  'Cause that one is a slam dunk.
