Pfft.  I only eat REAL burritos made in a tiny village in Zacatecas by a barefoot, one-armed peasant woman.  I'd tell you where to get them, but you just wouldn't get it.  It would blow away your whole whitebread, corporate burrito paradigm.

now i want to know how a one-armed woman properly rolls a burrito

Can't you read? She rolls it with her bare feet.

They closed a bunch in the Chicago area a few weeks ago. There was two within 3 blocks from my apartment. One was getting creamed by the chick fil-a according to the manager and I don't know why the other closed. They are still opening 100+ stores but it seems like Chicagoland in general was sufffering.

The food's not terrible, just incredibly bland.  Almost no flavor at all, and anyone could easily make better at home.

But yeah: go find a tiny little place that has too much orange and yellow paint on it and eat there.

It's not the food at Taco Bell that gives the problems. It's the questionable hygienic practices of local franchisees that give certain restaurants a notoriety. There are Taco Bells in Austin that I would eat at for years without problem. But there were others that I knew to avoid because I'd end up spewing at both ends. Since this seems to be a widespread phenomenon across the country, people like to share their war stories. It's not being delicate foodies. Lord knows I can nom on some crispy tacos or bean burritos, and that potato-cheesy wrap thing they had a few years ago definitely wasn't Mexican, but it was damn good.

Chipotle always seems to be playing shiatty music, but Radiohead is a whole 'nother level of shiatty that really shouldn't be played anywhere.

jake_lex: I have wondered why Thom Yorke, who has one of the most dynamic voices in rock history, has pretty much limited himself to that whiny falsetto in the last few records.

Because he doesn't have "one of the most dynamic voices in rock history".

The only thing good about Radiohead is Johnny Greenwood. Without his fantastic guitar playing, Radiohead would be entirely forgettable.

I had no problem with them one way or another until I started hanging around art-school types in 2000. It seemed that all other forms of music had been banned from the printmaking studio, it was whiny croons 24/7. That's when Thom Yorke became a bad word in my world.

There are certain Mexican joints where you get a free side of listeria with every order. The first time I ever eat anywhere where I pick up the food, I go inside. You can usually tell by looking at the kitchen people in the background whether you're taking your life in your hands by getting the burgers or tacos.

F*cking A.  Subby can't handle the equivalent of white bread, canned corn, limp lettuce, canned black beans and jicama with two or three leaves of cilantro?

This would makes subby's intestines liquefy:

busy chillin': IlGreven: xenophon10k: Subby has a weak constitution. Pansy.

...yeah, it's not like it's Taco Bell or anything.

Found in a fark thread when trying to find that term for delicate foodie poop problems:

Claiming that Taco Bell makes you sick is the lamest foodie humblebrag out there. 'Oh Taco Bell? My delicate epicurean sensibilities can not handle popular, cheap food. It's OK for the ketchup eaters, but my system requires something more culturally authentic (to make up for my culturally devoid consumer, vanilla lifestyle)'
Let me clear this up for you- no one sitting in the Taco Bell drive through with three screaming kids, an aching back and $20 is deluding themselves about the quality and authenticity of their meal. It's cheap, edible and quick. That's it.
Same for Olive Garden. No, it's not some ultra-authentic trattoria set up to challenge your culinary sensibilities. It's a lot of palatable food for a reasonable price in an environment that's nicer than a fast food joint.

OK, either the OGs in Cali suck or you're delusional, because I can get a far better meal in any number of other Italian restaurants, from local family-owned joints to other chains like Johnny Carino's, for a better price.

As for Taco Bell, I don't mind them too much, but I'll go to pretty much any other "Mexican" place before them.

Seriously, look at the name "Thom Yorke" and tell me how it's not pretentious twatjuice. A full 18% of the letters in that name are superfluous.

And subby's delicate snowflake of a digestive system is laughable. Chipotle is mild stuff

well, if your parents were silly and named you mathew with only one "t", you don't ADD letters to an abbreviation!

i have not tried to listen to that album

i know they tend to have a different sound on every album, but does it compare to any of the first 3?

Most long-time Radiohead fans agree that Pablo Honey is their worst album, and Kid A or OK Computer are the best. My preferences are Kid A, then Amnesiac, then In Rainbows. Then I use Pablo Honey for some frisbee.

Farking hipsters with their "everything sucks".  Great you have some obscure place no one knows about that is convenient to you.  Awesome.  Well, until they get popular and you stop going and you have to find the next obscure hole in the wall joint.

Chipotle burritos are pretty damn good, cheaper, and more convenient to obtain than going to the high end Mexican restaurant. Yes, the high end place makes better food and I go there when I want a sit down meal and a couple of margaritas.  I don't go there when I want to grab some quick take out to take home with me.
