This iswhat Angel does. He does the trick twice. Once is with safety lines and shiat that get cleaned out for TV, and the second is less grand, and purely for reaction shots. They combine the boring safe one and the reaction shots on TV. Someone obviously set the rigging for the wrong shoot.

Criss Angel and that Zak 'Douche' Baggans should be locked in a room until only one emerges alive. Then that one should be shot.

Okay, is this how the illusion is supposed to go?  The person from the crowd randomly pulls a rope, that causes a sword to fall.  Then repeate over and over until only the lethal one is left?  She just "randomly" picks the ropes which aren't hooked to the "lethal" sword?  Seems like a pretty obvious illusion to me.

I thought the funniest thing about the Incredible Burt Wonderstone (and there wasn't much, sadly) was the pitch perfect satirical performance that Jim Carrey gave as if he were the love child of Criss Angel and David Blaine.

What is it about living in Las Vegas that makes people act like those two?

And THIS is why he is not well respected among real magicians. Using editing and camera tricks to accomplish your "trick" is essentially cheating in magic.

That and he's a douchebag.

Only people who act like those two would want to live in Vegas.

David Tennant plays a Criss Angel type in the remake of Fright Night. A boozy mopey one.

Both reasons are why I've resisted all attempts to seen him when in Vegas with others...

The last thing I saw him in was a commercial for microwave popcorn.

It seems like a lamer version of the falling sword trick from "Lord of Illusions."

Yeah after catching a few episodes of Mindfreak one afternoon  I just shook my head.  It was painfully obvious there was a lot of clever editing going on and that a lot of his "street tricks" had been laid out well ahead of time.

That movie was painfully unfunny and had so much potential at the start. Steve Carrel just stinks up the place playing the Office boss in the role of stage magician. Jim Carrey put in a superb performance in pretty much nailing the 'street magician' gimmick on Angel - the only redeeming quality of the whole movie.

I swear that whole show was film that got swept up from the editing room floor because they were too painfully obvious to actually be displayed as "real" tricks.  A lot of them used the same contortionist chick and once you recognize her face the whole trick is out the door anyway.  Then there are the crowd reactions that are just so damn outlandish that in no way would it ever be a believable reaction even if Jesus himself were stepping out of the heavens.

I've you are ever in vegas, DO NOT see chris angel.  We made this mistake.  His only good trick was making our money disappear.  Honestly, how did this guy get a gig in a major las vegas casino?  Sadly, we didn't know it at the time, but copperfield was right across the street.  He's amazing, once watched him walk upside down on the ceiling of the theater he was performing at...
