Why Frau for Merkel instead of the previously used Chancellor?

Merkel can relax. Snowden just accepted Putin's terms for asylum. He won't release any more info. He's Putin's muzzled pet now.

...how, exactly, is this Germany's fault? Is this the new tactic to distribute blame for our clearly illegal surveillance?

Also, subby's reading comprehension's on the blink, apparently. You'll notice that the highlighted part of the sentence was dropped by subby - the implication here is that she knew about BND cooperation with the NSA, but that doesn't imply that she knew about the NSA's illegal surveillance activities. You'll also notice that it's Siebert, not Merkel, doing the talking here.

Seibert told Reuters this week that German's Federal Intelligence Agency's (BND) cooperation with the NSA "took place within strict legal and judicial guidelines and is controlled by the competent parliamentary committee."

What you heard was an ally attempting to maintain a public visage of solidarity with Washington, even as it asks, "what the fark, Washington?"

Why does this blog get greenlit about twice a week?  It comes from nowhere. is written by a nobody, does no reporting and lacks factual argument.

MurphyMurphy: Frau Merkel

*sound of horse neigh and whinny*

Oh, good, it's not just me.

From now on, I don't think I'll be able to read or hear "Merkel" without my brain playing the sound of whinnying horses in the background of my imagination...

Doubt it. The article contains words with more than eight letters.
