Modmins, can we get a clearly marked discussion thread for Sharknado greenlit around half an hour before showtime?  This looks to be incredibly epic.
Thanks!

Enough said.

The DVR is set to record this masterpiece. Beer is cold. Wife has been told to leave me alone. I hope this ends up being compared to some of the finest shlocky monster films of years past like Tremors(the first one), Piranha (the first one), and Days of Thunder.

Aren't tornados 5-10 minute long events? Wouldn't sharks absorbed in tornadoes have other things on their mind instead of eating people?

Not sure I'm the target demographic for this film

The added mass from sharks gives tornados a longer duration. Some biologists also suggest the sharks may use their motions to maintain the tornado. Swimming the the direction it spins.

Wow... The stupidest movie concept of all time results in one of the funniest interviews of all time.

This guy is having so much fun with this interview that I think I'll go ahead and deactivate the voodoo doll I made.

If you'd RTFA, you'd realize that this has all been explained.  And it's quite logical, frankly.

I swear I came up with this. I first said Sharknado in a thread about bad SyFy movies a couple years ago.

Bastard is a Farker, and he stole my farking idea.

Was it better or worse than the hot dog leg humping scene in FDR: American Badass?

That's my new stick for measuring quality.

Anyway wanna watch my new Sharkquake movie about of group of Shark's that live in the fault lines?

Or how about Sharkteroid?  Bye bye Dinosaurs!

Sorry, I just pluralized the word shark with an apostrophe.  By the rules of all good GrammerNazi's, I'm now jumping off a bridge.  No further shark movies will be made.

I LOL'ed

Area forecast discussion...updated National Weather Service Brownsville Texas 614 PM CDT Friday Jul 12 2013 Discussion...updated for latest aviation discussion below. && Aviation...cumulus field to dissipate early this evening with mostly clear VFR conditions to prevail through Saturday morning. High pressure east of the region to maintain a drier regime with VFR to persist Saturday. Daytime heating to mix with modest low level moisture developing a 4 to 8k foot scattered to occasionally broken cumulus field. Moderate southeast winds to gust around 20 knots in the afternoon. && Previous discussion... /issued 146 PM CDT Friday Jul 12 2013/ Short term.../now through Saturday night/...upper level high pressure is located over the Southern Plains currently and will slightly weaken and move over the eastern Seaboard as an upper low will move under the ridge toward the Ozarks by the end of the short term period. Surface high pressure will remain over the Gulf of Mexico keeping winds mainly from the southeast. Upper ridging will hang on this period...keeping the atmosphere fairly subsident and keeping precipitable waters around 1.5 inches or so. The short term remains dry with slightly above normal temperatures across the Rio Grande Valley. Long term /Sunday through Thursday/...the 500 mb low will be moving westward across the central US at the beginning of the period...with Texas still on the drier northerly flow side of the trough. A small seabreeze shower is not out of the question Sunday...but will be very few and far between. Models continue to slow down the progression of the 500 mb low...with the axis not passing our region until late Monday. This will keep deeper moisture at Bay for another day. Will keep very slight chance for a seabreeze shower on Monday...while ramping up rain chances quickly for Tuesday into Wednesday. The moisture will remain in the vicinity through the rest of the week...while the next inverted trough arrives from the Gulf late in the week. This will provide enough instability to bring another round of enhanced seabreeze activity Thursday into Friday. Have raised probability of precipitation slight for Thursday...waiting for better agreement on the Friday forecast. Marine...today through Saturday...surface high pressure will remain over the western Gulf of Mexico which will keep winds light to moderate and from the southeast through the period. Seas will be 1-3 feet this period. Sunday through Tuesday...flow between the weaker high pressure across the Gulf and the Summer heat low to the west will continue to provide modest southeast winds during the extended period. This should keep seas at three feet or less through the extended period. A midlevel system will move west across the US during this time...bringing instability to the region. Once the axis of the trough moves to the west of the region...southerly flow will bring deeper moisture back into the region...quickly increasing shower and thunderstorm chances Monday and Tuesday. But leave your chainsaw at home. There is no threat for sharknado in the forecast. && Bro watches/warnings/advisories... Texas...none. GM...none. && $$ This product is also available on the web at: http://weather.Gov/rgv 59/68
