Brandon McCarthy is 4,000x more witty and interesting than that congealed mass of douche and testosterone.

Why did they make a guy an analyst when his only claim to fame as a player is having a gigantic mullet and serving up one of the biggest meatballs over the middle of the plate in World Series History?

I am now following McCarthy just based on the Calvin and Hobbes profile pic. The fact that he hates on Williams is just more fun.

Yeah, if you want to engage an active MLB player in a battle of wits, Brandon McCarthy should be pretty much your last choice.  So now that we've settled that, how about we get some pics of his wife in here.

Am I missing something?  How does getting hit in the head by a random batted ball eqaute to not pitching inside?

The meme McCarthy started on Twitter was worth it though.  My favorite?  "If you fail out of art school this is what happens" - Mitch Williams on the Third Reich.

I'd assume that he's trying to say that since fewer pitchers are using the inside pitch these days, that batters are able to tee-up on pitches out over the plate, knowing that they don't have to worry about getting jammed in on their hands. Thus, frighteningly well hit balls directly back at the pitcher.

It's dumb, but I think that's what he's trying to say.

No, I didn't click the link.
I assume he's trying to say that

He also illustrated his point by showing a clip of himself being blasted in the head with a line drive during his playing days.

I don't say this lightly:

Mitch Williams is almost certainly the dumbest analyst currently employed by anyone.

That was a tweet at McCarthy, not one of his.

Holy shiat there are some funny ones.

"If you're going to ask for a dog, this is what's going to happen," - Mitch Williams watching Old Yeller with his kids
"If your gonna put a camera in front of me this is what happens" - Mitch Williams on Mitch Williams
"If you're gonna be a rock band, this is what's going to happen" - Mitch Williams on Nickleback

In defense of Williams, at least a little bit because yes, he is a douchenozzle...if a batter absolutely knows he has nothing to fear from being pitched inside, he can swing away with arms extended, not having to worry about 'keeping his hands in' or any other different swing you would take on a pitch on the inner part of the plate.

If you don't pitch inside at all, you're kind of hurting your career.

Half of that plate is mine.
