I call Bullshiat.   I'm a far worse rapper than anyone on the list.

I never liked them but when I was in high school I did enjoy "Just Anotha Crazy Click". Mostly because of Three 6 Mafia.

They definitely aren't the worst of all time. They're bad, but not the worst.

Their fans on the other hand...

2013-07-11 09:21:29 AM
Much as I hate ICP, they are far from the worse rap group of all time, even if they are terrible having a dozen albums produced means someone is buying this crap.

My parents played me that blondie song where she "raps" just to give me perspective on how far rap had come. So yeah... no way is icp #1

Sorry GQ. This is the worst rapper of all time.

/Actually, I don't mind some of ICP's stuff.

As a white guy, I spend at least 3 hours a day defending ICP's message to the world. Sure, I understand their rythmical speaking over other people's music may not be the best from a technical point of view but from an inspirational POV it Is super top notch.

When I listen to ICP I'm taken back to a simpler time when life was easier and filled with so much more awesome. 'Planet of the Apes' as directed by Tim Burton made sense, people were fascinated by the crazy bassist of Limp Bizkit and you could still get a Chilito at any goddanged Taco Bell you wanted to.

So yeah, say all the mean guy stuff you want about ICP but they represent the real America. Untouched by modern Obamaness, just living on a prayer. Selling albums, rapping it for real, keeping it real.

Personally, if I were asked who the worst rappist were, I wouldn't hesitate when I replied. The Oak Ridge Boys laid out the the un-illest rhymes of all time.

That rap was written by Fab 5 Freddie ...yeah it's cheesy but it was a different time. It also seems like execution is everything.

Hey, if it weren't for that Blondie song ("Rapture"), rap on the radio might have never been acceptable to white America, as least as early into the scene as it was.

That song and Rapper's Delight paved the way for rap to move out of the block party scene and become mainstream.

I think any rapper who plays generic luxory brand, weaponry and movie reference mad libs is way worse than ICP....

Listen to the recent JOE ROGAN PODCAST with Bobcat Goldthwaite.

The story about his experiences at the GATHERING OF JUGGALOS that is side-splitting funny.

They had a good song on the Great White Hype soundtrack so that puts them ahead of a lot of frontin' bustas.

What metrics are they using to determine worst?

I can't imagine the writers at GQ appreciating any rappers.

They just needed to fill a list with people so they could take a piss on ICP. And if ICP had enough wits to read up on how magnets work they'd realize this publicity is still publicity.

I would have to agree with that.  And I say that as one of three or four people that actually bought that record.

ICP do kinda suck, but their version of "My Name Is" by Eminem, "My Anus" was pharking hilarious.

ICP is at least awsomely bad.  I hesitate to suggest it, but they're close to being the Spinal Tap of rap.

Are they still trying to convince everyone that they're devout Christians, and the forst 10 years of their career was just a ruse to sucker people on so that they could eventually be "converted"?

THIS^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

That is mostly why they put it in the song: To introduce rap to a broader group, not because Debbie Harry thought she could actually rap... Jesus, she did it for 45 seconds in a single song, it obviously wasn't supposed to be a "thing". Not sure why some people are confused here...

Why didn't she have an actual rapper do it? I was told it was her trying to get in on what was supposed to be a fad before it got big (from fans of blondie), and that's what it sounded like to me.

Not disputing you, just trying to learn.

Also surprised by the lack of rap haters in hur.

That's actually a pretty decent list.  As much as I like Eazy and Too Short, they don't rap very well at all.  Some of Too Short's lyrics are hilariously bad.  Not that he cares what with all the biatches and money and whatnot though.
