And the defense calls BS on the prosecution playing games. Let's see what the judge says.

2013-07-11 10:28:14 AM
I want West as a lawyer just because we're similarly sarcastic towards idiocy. Wow.

2013-07-11 10:28:32 AM

dittybopper: Hobodeluxe: And lets remember when this initiated Trayvon was on the phone.

And that the person he was on the phone with says that it was Trayvon who initiated the confrontation.

no she didn't. she said Trayvon asked why are you following me?

2013-07-11 10:28:34 AM

Into the blue again: s2s2s2: whizbangthedirtfarmer: I've looked worse after a game of pickup basketball.

An assault can be vicious without inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Whiz, you played tackle basketballl too??? That game is rough.

An assualt can be VERY vicious and not leave exterior body harm. But if it is vicious there will damage to show for it.

Yes, it wasn't quite tackle basketball, as that is forbidden, but it was no foul basketball, so all sorts of chops and shoves were fair game.  I've left the game looking worse (and probably feeling worse) than Zimmerman looked in his pictures.

2013-07-11 10:28:46 AM
Hahahahahah

Don West: Just when I thought this case couldn't get more bizarre, the State is asking for the defendant being charged with child abuse'

He couldn't be facepalming harder right now.

2013-07-11 10:28:51 AM
OH MY GOD!

LOL

2013-07-11 10:28:55 AM

PC LOAD LETTER: You really need to talk to more black people.

Why on earth would he want to do that?

2013-07-11 10:29:00 AM

Hobodeluxe: he was still on the path to his Father's apt

You sure about that?

2013-07-11 10:29:47 AM

Facetious_Speciest: Hobodeluxe

no one other than Zimmerman and Trayvon's friend on the phone were a witness to the initiation of the confrontation.
the phone logs confirm she was on the phone with him at the time.
so what you have is a he said ,she said.

Both he and she agree that Martin confronted Zimmerman. There's no conflict between their accounts on that point. Without any other suggestion from any other quarter, why imagine otherwise?

no she said that ZImmerman approached him really close and Trayvon asked what's your problem. that is not initiating it. When George approached him was what initiated it.

2013-07-11 10:29:55 AM

Darth_Lukecash: All he knew was a man was following him. Perhaps to rape him? To mug him? To give him a copy of Dianetics? All justified beatings in my book.

So why was Trayvon not allowed to stand his ground?

Self-defense is justified under imminent fear of death or great bodily harm.  If someone following you was a sign of imminent harm or death, people would be getting blown away by the thousands.

2013-07-11 10:29:56 AM
He is saying the legal equivalent of "Are you farking serious or is this a joke?"

2013-07-11 10:30:13 AM

Nabb1: In all seriousness, the state of Florida may need to take this guy into protective custody when he walks. And sneak him off to some undisclosed location. Maybe fat camp.

Ooh, they can send him to a FEMA camp.  The wharrgarbl and derp will be epic

2013-07-11 10:30:15 AM
HAHAHAHAAHA and the coont judge rules that it's fine for the state to do that.

2013-07-11 10:30:30 AM

Darth_Lukecash: So why was Trayvon not allowed to stand his ground?

He was. He lost.

Think about it.

dittybopper: Hobodeluxe: And lets remember when this initiated Trayvon was on the phone.

I think we need to take a pledge together.  It will make us all feel better, remove stress from the thread and allow us to concentrate on any new or interesting matters that may arise.

Say it with me:

I [state your name], shall not re-hash, recount, discuss, contest, dispute, regurgitate or otherwise chat about uncontroverted facts in evidence.  Further, I shall not entertain those that do.

Amen.

/I feel better already

Next up 4th degree murder, which requires the commission of a misdemeanor, in this case loitering.

parasol: KellyX: Sorry, if someone was on top of me beating my head against the sidewalk and I was carrying, they'd be shoot too...

certainly, me too - and if i was a member of crime watch i'd have followed their guidelines - oh wait! I AM and I DO.  Do note, I've never argued GZ wasn't within his right to defend himself but, as many have posted in here? He made some stupid choices (as did TM) leading up to his need to shoot.

They'd be shoot they'd be shoot they'd be shoot they'd be shoot oontz oontz oontz oontz

2013-07-11 10:30:55 AM
He's going to be suing the shiat out of the state and rake in farking millions.

Don West: Child abuse. Really?

West: "Really?"

Here you have it folks!  Stop watching the court proceedings now.  This guy plays b-ball with thugs, so GUILTY!!!!!

2013-07-11 10:31:19 AM

probesport: I don't believe in Zimmerman.

That's ok, he believes in you.  And that's all that matters.

2013-07-11 10:31:19 AM
This judge needs to be disbarred.

2013-07-11 10:31:22 AM
I agree with West, though, this is extremely bizarre, even for this case.

2013-07-11 10:31:35 AM
Child abuse?  Why not littering with a formerly living body?

It's not illegal to follow or approach someone.  Never has been.

2013-07-11 10:31:40 AM
West just said "Child Abuse? Really?"

lol. :)

2013-07-11 10:32:02 AM
Win or lose, the defense needs to file a grievance about this judge with the bar.

2013-07-11 10:32:04 AM

PC LOAD LETTER: KellyX: TM should have stayed in his damn home. FACT

or

TM should have ran home and not confront GZ. FACT

Stayed home? Yes, because that's reasonable. GZ should have stayed home in that case as well.

Ran home? Seriously? If you think you are being chased by a white dude out to get a negro, why the hell would you lead him directly to your home?

Black people's worst nightmare is being killed by white racists*: FACT

*not that GZ was one, but he sure made every effort to make TM think that might be the case.

Their worst nightmare should be being killed by other black folk, because they kill a lot more black people than white racists do

2013-07-11 10:32:13 AM
An innocent man is being railroaded on national television.  Truly a sad day, and a nail in the coffin of the U.S.  The judge is giving the defense zero preparation time.

2013-07-11 10:32:29 AM
Hobodeluxe:  trayvon had the right to defend himself from a perceived threat

Yes, maybe.

If Martin had lived and Zimmerman had died, then yes, the standard would be the same -- Martin would be presumed to have acted in self-defense, and could only be convicted of a crime if it could be conclusively proven that he had NOT acted in self-defense.

In other words, in a self-defense case based on circumstantial evidence, the evidence must be so clear that it rules-out all of the not-guilty hypotheses as to how the event occurred, and leave the guilty hypothesis as the only conclusion to be drawn from the evidence.

2013-07-11 10:32:29 AM
okay - changed my mind - jury will be deliberating for a while due to the array of possible charges - OR, they will take half an hour to present "not guilty" - after having a group trip to the ladies' room

2013-07-11 10:32:30 AM

Tatsuma: He's going to be suing the shiat out of the state and rake in farking millions.

Don West: Child abuse. Really?

We seem to be riding the same wave today. You should be afraid.

2013-07-11 10:32:36 AM
Man she really wants to let this child abuse thing in. What a tard.

2013-07-11 10:33:04 AM

tripleseven: Carth: tripleseven: s2s2s2: tripleseven: Yeah, people have NO RIGHT to be in the streets or anything.

So then we agree, George had a right to get out of his car. Thank you.

I'm never going to convince you, but, lets look at reality:

There is a vast difference between walking down the street, and following another human being.

Which one is illegal?

It would depend on context concerning the legality of following someone, but if you are stating that being followed at night by a stranger in a car, and on foot doesn't pose a threat or a basic human emotional response of fear or danger, then you are totally lying to yourself.

That's fine. The problem is when you start beating the person following you and you don't stop despite his crying out for help.

2013-07-11 10:33:24 AM
Don West: 'Are you saying we're now going to add Vehicular Assault as well?'

2013-07-11 10:33:36 AM

kimwim: He's going to walk. Much as I don't want to see it, he's going to walk.

You know, from the outside looking in, black rage would seem to have a solid foundation.

/that is all.

Hobodeluxe

no she said that ZImmerman approached him really close and Trayvon asked what's your problem. that is not initiating it. When George approached him was what initiated it.

No, guy. Just no. She said Martin turned back to Zimmerman, and confronted him with "what you following me for?"

Your version has no testimony to support it.

2013-07-11 10:33:50 AM

Treygreen13: This judge needs to be disbarred.

Agreed.  But NOT disrobed.  No one wants to see that.

/unless you're into that kind of thing

Tatsuma: He's going to be suing the shiat out of the state and rake in farking millions.

Don West: Child abuse. Really?

Holy shiat!  You guys aren't kidding?  They're trying to add a child abuse charge?

2013-07-11 10:34:00 AM

TheDumbBlonde: We seem to be riding the same wave today. You should be afraid.

I think that speaks as to the complete righteousness or complete bullshiat of our position.

2013-07-11 10:34:19 AM
It seems to me that there were no real witnesses to the fight, and what TZ's lawyers say happened is a reasonable scenario.  Maybe it wasn't actually what happened, but there's certainly reasonable doubt, so he walks.

2013-07-11 10:34:34 AM

BraveNewCheneyWorld: An innocent man is being railroaded on national television.  Truly a sad day, and a nail in the coffin of the U.S.  The judge is giving the defense zero preparation time.

The only coffin is Martin's. A much sadder day on the grand scale of things.

The bar should act on its own.  It's not like they're unaware.

2013-07-11 10:34:59 AM
Err, GZ's lawyers, not TZ's.  Whatever.

The difference being that you consented to subject yourself to that injury potential, unlike someone assaulting you.

2013-07-11 10:35:05 AM
Hahahaha holy farking shiat Don West just told the biatch to shut up. He was talking, she tried to say something and told her 'LET ME FINISH'

2013-07-11 10:35:05 AM
Odds on the judge allowing third degree murder by child abuse?

I'm thinking 75%  change for her allowing it.

2013-07-11 10:35:08 AM
Well, at least it's clear Zimmerman will be walking now. He's either not guilty, or he has a hell of an appeal.

2013-07-11 10:35:15 AM
I'm not sure I can keep listening to this nonsense much longer. This is really, really stupid.

West: "Doesn't the court realize this is a trick?"

My guesses are:
a) Too dumb to realize it
b) Fark you, West

/probably a combination of both
//move for mistrial
