Including the date, exact time, and weather, what you and she were wearing, the entire conversation verbatim going about two hours back, and that was the SECOND horrible thing you did that day, you want to know what was the first? No. Well I'm going to tell you!

Bullshiat headline.

"Once completing the development program, Thomas could get a shot at the regular season if a spot becomes available. That wouldn't happen until a current official retires or leaves the league."

So it looks unlikely at this point.

Not to be mean, but I actually wanted to see how it would go if those scabs stayed in at least as far as the playoffs before the reg. refs returned.  I don't take sports as serious as I used to and wanted it to lead to some very epic stuff.  I think we would've got our first on the job shooting in the NFL when one of the Dallas Cowboys shoots a ref on the field during a game.  You got to admit, for one brief moment the whole country would be a Cowboy fan if that would've happened.

You mean someone else than Seth Meyers gets their material from FARK?  It's why I gave up SNL, Seth's jokes are like reading FARK threads only with less funny punch lines.  It's old material by the time he does it.

By making refs independent contractors, for one.

One July 4th, my then-girlfriend and I were supposed to spend the morning cleaning the apartment we'd just moved out of. Bu my friend invited us over for the usual beer and grilling you do on the 4th. She said, in a sweet voice, "Go ahead and hang out. I'll finish up the cleaning!" This set off my Spidey-sense, and I repeatedly told her that I can always party later in the day. "Nah, go ahead! It's fine."

And this, fellow Farkers, is where I made the critical mistake known as "It's fine!" is never actually fine, even when said with a smile.

After a week or so I thought, "hmmm, maybe I dodged the bullet."

Fast foward about 10 months. In a small and completely unrelated argument, she brings up my not helping cleaning on the 4th...at top volume. I remember mulling my options. Do I point how absurd it is for her to basically tell me to hang out with my friends only to be irrationally angry almost a year later? Or do I just sit here and absorb a half-hour litany and apologize?"

I chose...wisely. And that, fellow Farkers, is why I still have a penis.

I actually enjoy the feeling of self-satisfaction I get from absorbing it and knowing that I'm not being completely irrational.  Or saying, "you're right, you should dump me" and then leaving the room.

Actually, yes, she would. Some days later she was the one who apologized to me. She wasn't crazy; just prone to losing her temper for unfathomable reasons and, apparently, holding a grudge. Knowing this was why I just sat there and took it. Everyone has their quirks, and this is a thread where we're making fun of womens'. The day there aren't any threads on the internet making fun of men, I'll stop posting stories like this one.

If you knew anything about me you'd know that I'm the last guy to bail on a duty I had promised in order to drink beer with friends...unless I was very pleasantly allowed to. I should have known better, sure, but it's not like I told her to fark herself and send her down there with a bucket of cleaning supplies because I wanted to drink beer in the morning.

The ex and I are still friends.
