Taunting Bush senior with a six foot tall broccoli and a sign that read "Eat Me!" is the only amusing thing the LaRouchians have ever done.

I love broccoli. It's one of about 5 veggies I like. But it's not even close to being as awesome as peanut butter, chocolate, or bacon. Or all three combined.

I love broccoli. I cook it in a wok with five big, chopped cloves of garlic, some salt, and some pepper. When it starts to brown just a little bit, toss in some parmesan cheese, give it a good flip/stir, and it's heavenly./halved Brussels sprouts sauteed in olive oil with scallions and garlic until they get nice and golden on the cut side, then tossed with a few drops of white wine vinegar, fleur de Sal, and shredded Gruyere cheese...mmmmm

I really like broccoli, but like most green vegetables it works better as a compliment to a protein and really relies on spices to get any flavor out. With cheese as a side dish? Awesome. Stir-fried with tofu? Great. Raw? Freaking disgusting. Cooking but no spices? Freaking disgusting. It's an ingredient I'll always go with when the cooking method works for broccoli, but on its own it's eh.

Incidentally, has anyone else been loving brussels sprouts? They suck if you cook them in any moisture, but dab them with olive oil, sprinkle on some salt, garlic flakes, and maybe paprika, and roast them in the oven. They're great.

I dunno, spending decades ranting about how the Jew-controlled England-controlled Jews controlled by England have been compromising the United States for centuries is pretty hilarious.

Popcorn Johnny: Broccoli is delicious with butter or cheese on it.

Easiest good broccoli recipe.

1.  Heat peanut or sesame oil in a wok.
2.  Add one head chopped broccoli (or just dump it frozen out of the bag like I do)
3.  When broccoli is near done, add 1/4 cup orange juice (the fancy way is juice from an orange and zest, but I made it easier)
4.  Add 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes
5.  Few dashes of soy sauce

Keep in mind, I eyeball this whole thing so the sizes are really my best guesstimates.

Also, if you hate these vegetables, you likely have the genetic trait for PTC sensitivity.:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenylthiocarbamide

A similar condition exists for cilantro.

I don't think Dubya minded broccoli. It was his dad who hated it. Mr. H also loves brocoli. I think it's his favorite cooked veggie. Mine's asparagus.

Bloody William: Incidentally, has anyone else been loving brussels sprouts? They suck if you cook them in any moisture, but dab them with olive oil, sprinkle on some salt, garlic flakes, and maybe paprika, and roast them in the oven. They're great.

1.  Chop up and cook a couple strips of bacon in a heavy-bottomed frying pan.
2.  Cut a bunch of brussels sprouts in half and sauté them in the bacon and grease.
3.  Enjoy!

I've also had them flash fried (no batter, just dunked in fryer for a couple minutes) and they were delicious.
