Anybody else want to throw things at the television every time you hear Taco Bell talking about "grilled carne asada steak"?  No?  Just me then?  Okey dokey.

It's okay.....but I thought Farrell and Fox were poor casting choices for Crockett and Tubbs.  Not to mention that hearing Gong Li butcher two languages (English and Spanish) makes you wish you were deaf.

That being said, I liked the grainy look of the film....it made it feel like a gritty documentary in certain scenes.

/Also a huge fan of the TV show.

That new commercial irritates me because of the chef waving her knife around while her coworkers react. What exactly are you telling me about your product? Your chef isn't careful with her knife around her co workers?

The only thing I know about the Spanish language is that each word must mean 100 different things. Whenever I go to my local Plaza Azteca I order the "la especial" but they bring me something different every time.

I'm also a big fan of the show.  I thought it was a fairly okay movie on its own.  It had the usual Michael Mann directorial slickness, along with the exotic sites, pretty women, etc.

BUT, why in the hell did they dump all reference to the old show?  Not using the original theme song, or even the other scores (like Crocket's Theme) famous because of the show (In the Air Tonight).  No reference to any of the old sideplots or backgrounds. I

I get Mann didn't want to be campy - but that's such BS...  the show was famous and the movie only shares just the name and I guess some of the same characters (just barely).

And the movie totally lacked any humor that the show had.... it was just too dark.

He didn't say Rubio wasn't a real Cuban, he said he wouldn't pay $12 for really good Cuban food made by Rubio. Subtle distinction.

The complete name of that plate probably is "la especial del dia".
