They will do laundry until they are replaced by CGI.

A real drone costs more than the Philadelphia School Budget for a year.

But still, the laundry "drone" comes with a coupon for 20% for the reattachment of any fingers or limbs lost if the drone malfunctions or deliberately maims the customer.

So uh... is this guy going to follow the drone around with his controller? What's the point?

And at the moment it gets you noticed and free advertising.

But somehow you can't see this.

If only there's a website dedicated to pointing out advertisements pretending to be news and other media bullshiat.

you sound very uninformed.

Couldn't the guy controlling the "drone" just deliver the dry cleaning faster?

Nice publicity stunt is all. It'd take a lot of advances before those things would ever achieve payback. Still, pretty cool.

But are they Three Laws SafeTM ?

2013-07-09 01:25:05 PM
Yeah - like my neighbours want to see (& hear) my brown-scarred skivvies being choppered to my front door!

Didn't I see this in a Daffy Duck cartoon? The one where he's demonstrating the house of the future?

Not a drone, just a toy quaadrotor. Now, a real drone would have a "hellfire" delivery option, for a additional charge.

I'll give them points for thinking up something different. What I won't give them points for is efficiency and functionality. It's a neat idea, but that's all it really is, some beer party bullshiatting put into action.

More free advertising.

Today it delivers laundry to me. Tomorrow it delivers laundry to me and information to the NSA, CIA, FBI, Police, and who knows who else.

It's a booming business.

So...illegal commercial use of a UAV?  I really doubt the laundry company has an experimental airworthiness certificate.

I know they're doing it for the publicity you dolt. I just think it's stupid.

They can do both.

In fact, they over-starched my socks and turned them into deadly boomerangs.

2013-07-09 07:42:39 PM
... I DO hate doing laundry... so conflicted... can they get it to mow my lawn while they're at it?
