You mean to tell me the Nuggets didn't have anywhere to hang their coats until now?

So the Nuggets are going to suck next year. Goody.

Ugh. First they let go of the COY and then let they barely spent any calories trying to retain (in vain) the league's top GM.  Now the defense takes a huge hit with Iggy's departure.

Don't forget they traded down in the draft for nothing but cash to help them re-sign Iggy. Then traded him.

I can't believe how much teams pay for a Bruce Bowen clone who can drive better, but shoot 3's and defend at a lower level.

It's Stan Kroenke; he's a dick.  Also, they think they'll get a lottery pick in 2014 (it's going to be a supposed loaded class of both FAs and the draft itself).

Thank you so much for taking Biedrins off our hands. I felt stabby every time I saw him. I think Mark Jackson felt the same way.  Dude has been coasting since he got his contract years ago. He has made no effort. How can a starting center make two free throws in a gamein a season?  That is right a season!  Iggy we got because he was essentially a free agent. Denver got some first round picks to allow the Wars to shed Biedrins and Jefferson a year early. You'll be rid of them in a year and you can compete for the free agents of 2014.

Faried should be an all star

"Get a deal for pho with iguana nuggets."

Naw, Utah got the picks. Denver got Foye and a trade exception(TPE). Iggy was gone anyway, so at least we got something out of it, though it did help out the Warriors too.

And Faried an all-star? Maybe someday. But not now. Too raw. There's scuttlebutt they'll trade him anyway. Too many forwards assuming Gallo comes back healthy, not a lot of guard depth that has any real experience. We'll find out how Fournier and Green are doing next week during Summer League though, and I assume they'll evaluate from there. Such a young team though. 4th youngest last year at 24.7, and now with Iggy gone the only person over 26 is Andre Miller, mucking up the entire average and still rolling at like 37 years old. Discount him and they'll probably be 1st or 2nd youngest team this year.

Going to be an interesting season.

Getting lucky in the draft is the Nugs only chance.  With huge downgrades in GM and coach because the owners a cheap twatwaffle chased away Iggy and there's no chance we'll land an elite free agent.  So the draft is the only shot.

Somebody needs to tell the KronkeMarts that you can't run a sports franchise like a discount chain that sells cheap chinese garbage.

Sure they can. They'll probably bring in a nice profit (not over-the-top compared to other franchises, but a tidy profit) considering the forgiving fan base around here, too.  But Denver in the Finals? Not in a million years.

It's funny how teams with gung-ho owners, regardless of sport, who are serious about titles actually have a ring or two or are usually in the conversation toward the end of each season.  I just don't get that "we're serious!" vibe from the Kronkes. And the Nugs are about a year or two away from mediocrity at best.

I've been saying for years that when people trot out these "average team age" stats they need to weight each player's age based on the number of minutes played. A team with two 35 year olds playing 36 minutes a game is an older team than the same team if you swap those two 35 year olds for two 39 year old benchwarmers who only play in garbage time.

You're absolutely right that they can.  They in fact are doing exactly that.

You'll make money from a sports team before you even sell a ticket, beer or parking space.  With the magic of sports accounting they get to depreciate the players as assets to the tune of tens of millions of dollars a year.  They even get to depreciate the stadium the city owns.  So they'll make hundreds of millions in cash and claim a tiny profit or even a loss.  Toss it on the pile of billions they already have and give lip service to the fans while sodomizing one of their favorite forms of entertainment.  Well, at least the Broncos will be good as long as Peyton is healthy.

Yep. Bowlen is the only owner in town who's overtly passionate about winning.
