There's a play, I can't remember the name, where the actors are to have two beers before every performance and need to be holding a drink during the entire performance. The last act is pretty much unscripted and the actors are pretty much so drunk they can't remember the lines anyway.

I remember hearing a story about a performance that a very drunk Lewis Black was in where he cry-laughed so hard he fell off a stool.

It's kind of funny for a few minutes. A 30 minute show? No thanks

I was hoping it was a history of famous drunks.

Didn't we do this like 5 or 6 years ago on one of the video sites?

I think it was a sketch on the Chappelle show maybe.

Either way, I have it tivoed.  Might have potential for a few laughs.  History + cursing + random jokes should = win.

Didn't Mike Rowe already do this on the Discovery Channel?

Hey, if it weren't for alcohol, most of what's on tv wouldn't exist.

No, he did a history of drunken America. It was unintentionally funny.

I don't to funny drunk. I do mean drunk. And everyday I'm drinking.

/play it loud

Considering that the video has the Funny or Die logo, I would have to say that you're right...

Oh, look.  Some "journalist" discovered the drunk history videos.  Good for them.

2006 called, they want their YouTube hit back.

Of course the Tesla one is great, but my favorite is still the Christmas special with Ryan Gosling.

Hard to see the TV around her giant nose.....But she is kinda hot.

Saw the pilot episode on HULU already.
imagine a single drunk person in a long drawn out monotone voice telling a story...and not funny stories.
Pass on this one.

I saw a few clips on Funny or Die on HBO. It could be good depending on who did it. The John C. Reilly as Tesla one was pretty good from what I remember.

Actually it's a TV show now.

Queued it on Hulu. Sounds like good background video while I work on my antebellum pretties.

At least its somewhat of a new idea. Better then the recent formula of: Star Comedian-cuts-back-and-forth-between-standup-and-sketchs

/I love Amy Schumer, but she can do better than Inside Amy

The drunk history one I recall was Jack Black as a womanizing Ben Franklin. The first part was rather funny.

Oh, you mean like Drunk History, yeah that was funny for a moment.

Sounds kind of like "Bye Bye Liver," although I'm pretty sure that's scripted and the actors are only acting drunk (though I could be very very wrong - it's been about 4 years since I saw it). It's also generally no-name improv actors so I doubt Lewis Black would have participated.

Whatever you saw sounds a lot funnier.

I originally read that as "Get totally blotto and narrate key scenes from 'American historyX'", and was wondering what the curb stomp scene would look like.

Eh, I found the first episode to be rather funny.  I love that they have famous actors act out the voiced-over bits.

at what point do the people associated with Funny or Die have to either be funny, die, or change to a less misleading name?

It was a popular YouTube series for a while, in part because they had famous actors doing the historical parts. It sounds interesting, but I have a feeling it won't be as good as it was on YouTube.

We made it about 10 minutes into the pilot before we gave up.

I had to wonder what the pitch was like to CC.
