This is a hell of an aside, but what the hell, this is also Fark.  I think Americans' view of criminals is somewhat distorted by Hollywood's recent obsession with 21st century moral relativism, where altruists are incompetent idiots and you basically need a Randian mentality to get anything done.  In the real world, there are trustworthy and competent people but odds are they aren't criminals.  On the flip side, if you're looking for a partner-in-crime, you can't exactly ask a recruiter to collect & filter candidates.
