A waterspount is ALWAYS a tornado, just happens to be over water.

Water spouts are tornados by another name. And considering the damage that tornados did earlier this year, it's pretty farking insensitive to be calling them "awesome". Shame on you, subby, for ignoring the tragedy in Oklahoma.

I think he was referring to the pictures, which are pretty awesome(awesome in the traditional definition of "inspiring awe")

I was headed over to the Oldsmar Chick-fil-a, came around the bend and saw this in front of me

I decided it was probably best if I went to a different CFA

Yeah, that's pretty much the point where it goes from "ooh, neat!" to "JESUS CHRIST GET UNDER COVER!!!"

Loved watching waterspouts growing up in the Tampa Bay area. I don't recall many coming ashore much. But I do recall how one crossed the Gandy Bridge and soaked traffic heavily.

Next ... Does anyone remember having jellyfish fights as kids while swimming at Beer Pier in Safety Harbor?

/Good times.

Wow.  Just a few blocks from where I used to stay.  Surprised I am admitting that in public.
