It would have been funnier if he had grabbed the Glock from his glovebox and gunned down his "friends."

Right you are.

I hereby amend my comment.

It would have been funnier if he had grabbed the ice scraper from his glovebox and gouged out the eyes of his "friends," girlfriend and, when he arrived home, parents. You know. For the lulz.

Why the heck did he not run over them with his vehicle, while attempting to flee the scene?

/ Methinks shenanigans are in play here, in order to get on the YouTubes.

Yeah, this type of shiat was never funny or cool.  Now watergun fights, they're cool.

I can tell you right now, some of my 'friends' would get killed in that attempt.

2 years as a private contractor running around Iraq does this thing to you where you'll fight to the death before allowing yourself to be bundled up and driven off in a strange vehicle.

THIS.

5 years in the Army, 3 of which were in Germany during the Cold War where I went through anti-terrorist driving training before becoming a DV (distinguished visitor) driver.  At least 2 of them would have been run over as I sped away.

If any of my 'friends' do anything like that before my wedding day I will farking kill some motherfarkers.  This is probably the most stupid, disrespectful, dangerous and pointless thing anyone could do.  Who ever came up with an idiotic prank like this should be ashamed.

Yeah, kind of seems like one of those pranks that pushes over the line between 'epic' and 'too far'.

I wonder what would have happened if he decided to fight them?  Would they have all agreed beforehand to immediately stop the prank and reveal themselves?  Could have got quite nasty.

Ah, yes, in the current climate of terrorists around every corner and tons of folks coming back from places where this very activity was considered commonplace, there's nothing like an old-fashioned fake extremist kidnapping to just make one chortle. No, wait, not "chortle" so much as "cause inadvertent injury or death as the subject mistakes your stupid prank for the real deal and defends himself on that premise."

The requirement is you know your friends.

I would never do this to any of mine, because they're all well-armed, belligerent in the face of authority and slightly kooky.

But I know people to whom this kind of treatment would solicit the appropriate reaction

That was my first though. You have a 2000 lbs 150 stone weapon with you. Use it.

Because he wasn't the one driving.

And the female driver (who I'm assuming is the fiance) was laughing when they pointed the camera at her, so she was probably in on it.

In addition to having injured some of my friends while fighting for my life, once I realized my fiancee was in on it she'd be an ex-fiancee. This was just cruel, idiotic and stupidly dangerous.
