Will it be a documentary, or a movie "based on actual events"? One is understandable ("9/11" the documentary came out in 2002), the other looks like a very bad idea.

There's no drama.

Two idiots make a bomb and blow it with off the shelf powder and a pressure cooker. Some people who didn't know it was there were caught in the blast. Cops find some muslins to take the flax.

I heard it's going to star Brad Pitt who has to race to the finish line, identify the bombers and then prevent the bomb from going off. But it's too late Brad, it's too late...this will be the second bomb you failed to prevent!

Yup, that looks like a still from the trailer "World War B"

Give to to Whedon, and turn it into a Faith movie.

We all "know" that the BPD killed one and found the other in the boat.

Just as she left them.

/Fun Fact: Eliza is from Watertown, where they found the guy in the boat.

the fatal April 15 Patriots' Day attacks at the Boston Marathon finish line

Patriots' Day is April 21st. But anything to make it sound more dramatic and victimy I suppose.

It is observed on the third Monday in April in Massachusetts and Maine (once part of Massachusetts).

That's why the Northeast got to submit their Federal Taxes on April 16th.

i dunno, considering how much imagery we got out of that whole ordeal, anything hollywood makes would just look fake and unreal

I hope that both book and film note that the incident was a protest of U.S. decadence -- you know, the country that took in these two assholes and gave them a free ride.

I have just finished my book on the real cause of the Asiana plane crash in San Francisco.
The screenplay should be finished by next week.

Actually - the police manhunt around it would make a compelling story.

Largely it's a story that hasn't been told.

Of course that means Hollywood gets the chance to get it wrong and beat it into the ground.

Actually, Patriot's Day is April 19th, as that's the date of the Battles of Lexington and Concord, which is what the day commemorates, but it's actually celebrated on the Monday closest to that date, so people can get a 3 day weekend.

The big climax of the film will be cops shooting at a boat.

I think this and the over all possible involvement in the unsolved murder would make a decent crime thriller.

With 300-esque cinematography of the gun battles.

Even better, they *MISTAKENLY* shot at the boat.  Tsarnaev was unarmed (though they didn't know it), and thus there was no reason for them to shoot at the boat, other than someone had an accidental discharge and the ensuing fire was contagious shooting.

That action actually violates one of the most basic rules of gun safety  (being sure of your target *AND* what is behind it), and it also violated a very important constitutional rule of engagement that police operate under (you can't fire at a suspect you can't see).

Honestly, I'd have reprimanded every single cop that fired their weapon at that boat.  That's just damned unprofessional, and dangerous as all Hell for anyone in the area.

Am I wrong to say I absolutely dread the Boston Marathon this year?  You just know we're going to get weeks of feel good stories shoved down our throats about people that lost limbs in the blast and have overcome everything to race in this year's marathon.

Amazing how quickly this has become old news.  Nowadays, all anyone cares about is debating whether a brown dude was defending himself or being wantonly malevolent when he shot a black dude.
