So, there was another one that I didn't hear about?  Or did I not hear about the one I heard about?

2013-07-08 01:21:12 PM
If it was a ghost train, does that mean the passengers were already dead?

2013-07-08 01:23:12 PM
Whatbec?

2013-07-08 01:24:43 PM
That's a negative, ghost train, the pattern is full

/didn't hear about? wha?

2013-07-08 01:26:32 PM
Heard about it this morning on NPR.

BOOM!

Who's versed in world news now, motherf*cker!?!?

2013-07-08 01:28:14 PM
Did it make a sound?

2013-07-08 01:39:50 PM
I heard about it, its all over the news.

The 40 people missing were all at the bar.

2013-07-08 01:42:25 PM
Who hasn't heard about it?  People who don't watch the news, and then complain that they didn't see something on the news?

They rank right up there with people who don't have a TV because there's nothing good to see.  How do you know if you don't have a TV?

Or worse -- I met a woman who claimed not to watch TV.  After a short discussion it turned out that she rented DVDs of House and Frasier and other TV shows and watched them on a TV at home.  But, somehow that's "not TV" because it's time-shifted.

I like how it's a "ghost train" as if this wasn't completely human-caused and avoidable.

It was ghosts! It's nobody's fault! Certainly not the oil companies!

2013-07-08 01:44:11 PM
Should have suplexed it. Where's Bret Hart?

2013-07-08 01:46:08 PM
The various news aggregators (like Fark) have been pretty good in shining light on the story. As did the BBC, NBC, ABC, CBS, and Fox, but yeah, most people only care what's happening on Honey Boo Boo or whatever.

2013-07-08 01:46:12 PM
I didn't read or watch much news this weekend, but I hear about this. is subby mad that the plane crash knocked his favorite tragedy off the top story pedestal?

I hope they are able to track down at least a couple of the missing. the report I read said they could have been gone on vacation, I hope that is true, but it seems less likely as time passes.

sad.

/why is my mobile browser not capitalizing my first letters now? bad habit to have gotten into, but it was my habit!

2013-07-08 01:46:17 PM
I would also like to comment that I previously heard about this. Yesterday I think. And then caught more this morning on NPR.

2013-07-08 01:46:56 PM
Quit whining. Nobody gives a fark about Canada. I hear it's full of farking Canadians. fark them.

Congrats - here's a cookie and a pat on the head.

slayer199: If it was a ghost train, does that mean the passengers were already dead?

There were no passengers on it....or engineers. Basically no one driving it, hence a ghost train. What could possibly go wrong? Oh wait, something did.

2013-07-08 01:48:57 PM
I heard about it the day it happened. On my local news in Atlanta. It's not like the media has been silent about this. In fact I heard about it again today, and again on my local news.

The story unfolded rather slowly with one death reported when it broke. The jaw-dropping "40 missing" part came about 24 hours later. There might not be any remains to be found (vapourized).

He was going down a grade making 90 miles an hour,
The whistle broke into a scream.
He was found in the wreck with his hand on the throttle,
Scalded to death by the steam.

Oh, now all you ladies you'd better take warning,
From this time on and learn.
Never speak hard words to your true-lovin' husband.
He may leave you and never return.

Umm, we've had a few Fark threads already, plus it's been front page the last few days on FoxNews, CNN and MSNBC, it's hardly a disaster we didn't hear aboot eh.

It is indeed sad, but let us not fool ourselves for Canada's pity sake.

This is Quebec.  Even Canadians hate Quebec.
