So... a pedal pub? There seemed to be a dearth of alcoholic beverages on that thing though.

Watch the legs.  That's the lesson.

When did becoming part of a TEAM equal socialism?

What would you think of a player on a professional sports team who was on the field, and just not doing anything?

I like the idea of the pedal pub but the ones in MPLS are operated by complete asshats.
Starting and ending on private property, not policing their guests, constant screaming at WOO-ing at all hours, dumping beer on peoples lawns, etc

Also it looks like everyone was pedaling at some point in time, the one who wasn't seemed to be grabbing something off the counter then resumed.

Actually it would be a better metaphor for socialism if there was a duck on the bar, and they were pedaling around a bonfire of mannequins in scuba gear.  And the guy steering the pub was dressed like the guy in Candy Crush and if you smelled colors instead of seeing them.  And if "metaphor" meant "acid trip"

2013-07-08 03:55:21 PM
Each seat needs its own odometer. When you stop, the total bar-tab divided among the patrons, and weighted for how much energy you contributed to the ride itself.

2013-07-08 04:20:47 PM
I guess. To be a better metaphor, there should have been at least one person on a hover-round complaining how lazy everyone else is. And there were no blah people, so it can't be socialism.

Because there's 2 on the back who don't' have to peddle at all? Or the guy who came up with getting a bunch of suckers to pay him to peddle him around while drinking?

I think you found the metaphor for the US as it is today. All the suckers pedal, a few don't and the guy driving does nothing.

/subby doesn't understand what socialism is
//doubt any of them have healthcare either.

a metaphor for American crony capitalism.  the working/middle classes create the Wealth and the richest 2% (along with Wall Street's and Washington's help) steal it.

No, it's the perfect metaphor for capitalism.  You're on vacation, you just want to relax and have a drink and have fun, and the boss says, "KEEP PEDALING, ASSHOLE."

Why should she?  She's a 1%er.

As far as she's concerned her drinking makes the bike go.

Actually, it's the opposite:  A working/middle class person built the bike, and judging by the condition of what's left, it was a decent new bike, so owned by a working/middle class person, and in all probability, it was stolen by someone who is poor.

I doubt the bike was stolen by one of the richest 2%.

ah-oh,  another left brainy.  look up the definition of metaphor.   don't interpret it literally, but more abstractly.  use your right hemisphere brain.

its obvious that a rich person would not actually steal the bike.  unless it was on a lark.

unbridled Capitalism (no government regulation) is the reason your pals on wall street took this Nation for ~3 Trillion. many bankers got very very rich off that stunt.

do your research and stop protecting criminals.

well..............for starters.............no one wall street banker, fund manager, etc has seen the inside of a prison.  you do remember 2008/09 when this nation almost had a complete breakdown of its financial sector, right?

bernie madoff?   the only reason he went to prison is because he stole from rich people.  you can steal from working/middle classes and get away with it, but you cannot steal from the rich in America and get away with it.

you really should get out more.  read up on current events.

and 2008/09 would not have happened if there wasn't a revolving door between big business/wall street and the Government.  regulations of our financial sector would never have been removed in the last 20 years if big business was not in bed with government.

its called.............i'll give you one guess...........Crony Capitalism.

well done. you are brilliant!

LewDux: Good luck with your revolution and all, but why exactly that picture is metaphor for American Crony Capitalism?

i'm not interested in a Revolution.  too messy.  too unpredictable.  too many deaths.  but what i am interested in is a Nation that has a genuine Free and Independant Press and who's talking heads on the 'news' channels do actual Journalism instead of public relations.

big business owns all the 'news' on TV/Radio/Newspapers.   they don't own the Internet,  yet.    that is why the Internet is the last real Democratic means of communication.

big business gives you the version of 'news' they want you to know.   they won't give you any 'news' that is counter to their agendas and interests.

that is the single biggest reason why we have such a huge divide in this country.  the reason why everyone has taken sides.  because they aren't getting the actual news.

FOX News , for ex., kept piping about how Rmoney was going to win last year.  all the way up to election night they were pounding it into their sheeple that Rmoney was going to win.

course, the truth was that it was a Landslide victory for Obama.  FOX was shocked and at a loss for words.  i knew damn well Obama was going to win.  i didn't think it would be a Landslide, but i knew he'd win.  because i get my news online. unfiltered by rich assholes who love America so much.

THAT is Corporate News.   what THEY want you to know and believe.

2013-07-09 12:28:23 PM
oh, and in case anyone was wondering.  Ours is a Government Of, By, and For the People.  not Of,By and For Big business and the rich.

its called Representative Democracy.

just wanted to clear that one up for our Republican Friends.
