1. George Clooney, Batman & Robin (1997)

And they lost me already. Clooney even said he played the character gay.

"Think about it," he explains. "I was in a rubber suit. I had rubber nipples. I could have played him straight but I didn't. I made him gay."

Wait Devil's Advocate was a decent movie, not Oscar quality but a decent movie with some great scene chewing by Al. And you can go fark a high stick Mr Article writer because Be Cool was a great flick, a fun ride to just tag along with.

Let's get us some chicken and waffles up in this biatch!

Ok, just because the core material was utter crap in conception, style, substance, execution, and intellectual appeal, doesn't mean that an actor or two couldn't muster up a good performance when acting in the poorly adapted, written, shot, directed, edited, and produced shiatfest that was their asinine attempt to stain the silver screen.

At the end of the day, this is really all you need to know about superhero movies - no matter how "dark", "realistic", and or "twisted" its a bunch of poofs dancing around in over-engineered stretchy cycling pants...

You're high. Be Cool was terrible, a ceaseless compilation of "Hey, remember this great moment from Pulp Fiction or Get Shorty? Here it is again!" I think I laughed once, and never felt like I was having fun.

Ohh cmon, the scene with Nick Carr and Sin LaSalle was farking comedy gold

I've got to give Samuel L. Jackson honorable mention for this. It made sitting through that crappy movie worth it for just that one scene.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Batman & Robin was the most faithful comic book movie adaptation ever filmed. And it deserved a lot more respect for that than it gets.

it is granted a great deal of respect.  we all respect the fact that: if you make a faithful adaptation of a comic book, you will make a terrible movie.

Absolutely.

I always like to imagine his getting the role went something like this:

"Mr. Jackson, will you please, please, please, please, please be in our giant smart-shark movie?"

"Do I get eaten?"

"Sure! Whatever you want."

Random Internet Persona: I liked the Devil's Advocate

So did I.  I recognize how deeply, terribly flawed it is.  Keanu's inconsistent accent, the poor pacing in the middle of the film, the hammy acting, all of it.  But I do so enjoy it.

That was always my biggest gripe with it. That movie took 2:30 to do what could have been done in 1:45.

I'm kind of on the Jersey Girl wasn't half bad train. Affleck played every scene much bigger than he should have I agree on that, but I think it gets more crap than it deserves on the story. May be the worst Kevin Smith movie but not the worse Affleck movie for sure.

So, what are you saying? George Clooney playing gay isn't acting? His Batman wasn't gay enough? Or that it wasn't gay enough that his performance could be considered good?

Keanu Reeves is terrible any time I have to take him seriously.  That might just be me, (I'm that age, like a lot of Farkers, where he's Ted Theodore Logan) but anything beyond Speed/Point Break level just doesn't work.  (Esp. Dracula.  Who the f*ck cast him and Ryder in that?  *throws up hands*)

That said, I think it's an awesome movie.

Devil's Advocate: Good all around, except for that damn accent.
Batman & Robin: Nothing good about this film. Campy in a funny way, sure.
Jersey Girl: Good movie all around. George Carlin got the vote because he is farking George Carlin
The Watch: Everyone did well, except that Vince Vaughn is always his stupid character in every movie. Still funny.

Always good in every movie: Kevin Bacon, Kevin Costner (yes, I went there), Samuel L Jackson, Wilhelm Dafoe,  Joseph Gordon-Levitt (different font because I forgot his spelling and copy and pasted), and others but I am bored to list.

post0089: Jersey Girl: Good movie all around.

No. Not even close. It's just drowning in every workaholic-single-father-gets-his-priorities-straight cliché that has ever been conceived. It's insultingly trite and treacly, and so predictable, it circles back around to being almost unpredictable because you think, "They couldn't possibly be going there. It's way, way, way too obvious." Not only does the self-centered, single-dad widower realizes at the last moment that his daughter's school talent show is more important than a job interview, but actually dashes back to the 'burbs from Manhattan to join her on stage for a song. The performances are good in the early going - for Affleck and Lopez, it's the anti-"Gigli" up until she dies. But after that it's Grade-A, 140-proof, entirely mechanical garbage.

Not really... I see no redeeming quality to that movie. The acting, to me at least, was crap at best. But then again, I was more interesting in the young lady I was with then anything happening in the movie. All though I did get to riff the hell out of that movie.
