Hildreth can only speak through a machine that he types into, and people have looked at him differently all his life.

To be fair, people have looked at me differently all my life and I'm not even handicapped.

It is a bad design. It fails to quickly and clearly communicate the necessary information. It's not obvious it's a pictogram of a person to someone that isn't already familiar with the old design.

I appreciate that the designers want to improve the public perception of the disabled, but I think they would consider open parking spaces and bathroom stalls a higher priority.

As a handicapped person, I find these new signs completely stupid and a waste of money.

Who farking cares what the symbol looks like. And technically not all physically handicapped people use wheelchairs, my back is screwed up and it makes it hard to walk, but doesn't mean I need a chair.

I should call these people up and express my outrage that they depict all handicapped people as needing wheelchairs, redo your signs again you stereotyping bastards!

Outrage! Outrage! Outrage!

/and I don't even use the handicap spots, I'm too cheap to go pay for the placard.

It is early and Monday, when I look at this image, it looks like a bug getting squashed by a large circle. its guts are the little circle at the top.

"This is a bug squashing zone" signs are now all the rage, eh?

I went to a party a few years back. There was a 'Deaf Child Playing' sign down the street.I asked about it and The owner of the house said it had been up for at least 25 yrs now.

the sign very clearly indicates that you are not allowed to do wheelies on a Segway. duh.

Well, to ME, it looks like a guy with elephantitis of the scrotum and an enormous drooping wang..,..
But then again, my therapist DOES love the Rorschach part of our visits. I swear he's laughing at me!

Honestly, I always preferred the one based on the Vitruvian Man myself: the little stick-figure in the blue circle.
