Too many people think that they SHOULD do something because they CAN do it.

But it's educational (giving valuable insight into the stupidity of these niqab wearers)

If someone wanted to burn the flag on the steps of the Texas Capitol just because its their right, these guys would be pleased with that.

How many people were killed?  None?  Then I'm ok with it.  I'm somewhat less ok with subby giving us a link to an AOL video.

Certainly.  One of them was using the US flag as clothing, obviously in protest of the US for something or another.  I'm surprised they didn't have a little BBQ set up to burn flags and bibles and stuff.

They probably wouldn't like it. If if those people specifically didn't get upset about it then I assure you somebody would.

But you know what they wouldn't do? Throw a damn fit so large that even the president makes a comment on it.

You know, like liberals did in response to a Koran burning.

Why are these super-defenders of the constitution never asked how they feel about the current state of the 4th or 6th amendments?

And yesterday I saw in a post a picture of someone wearing an American flag made into a pair of shorts. Not a pair of shorts with a print, but a flag made into a pair of shorts. What horrible horrible people those posters are.

Looks like a bunch of white trash to me.

Of all Americans, the jingoists ought to know that to wear a flag is to desecrate it.

No sir, normal people do not carry long barreled weapons around.  You do not make me feel more comfortable.

These people are goons.  I don't trust a single one of them.  Assholes, attention whores, lunatics.

You're okay with anything that doesn't kill people?

They have no problem with Bradley Manning being told HOW he can defend himself, or that war crimes are committed and ignored, that warrantless searches are the norm, that they are monitored without due process. Um, yeah, your long gun is really going to come in handy. You already lost dude.

That's probably an overstatement.  I'm generally less ok with things that do kill people.  But when no one is harmed, no laws are broken, no property was damaged, and the worst thing that happened was people who don't like gun owners or guns are upset by a safe and legal demonstration, I'm ok with it.  If their objection is that it's dangerous to carry guns around, I'd say that has been definitively disproven.

That's not niqab, it's a stupid US Flag morphsuite from Party City.

The thing I noticed is that the protest wasn't broken up by police, probably because they were outgunned.

Fine with open carry longs, but drop the magazine and open the bolt! It takes less time to ram a mag and drop the bolt, than it takes to figure out who is shooting who, and you should be able to do both at the same time. You don't even get into gun shows with a closed bolt and mag inserted!

Weeell, I mean... carrying a gun around must increase your chances of being shot or shooting someone to some degree, even if it's a small chance. I mean, the mere presence of a gun does increase the number of options for shiat to go terribly wrong. Much like how buying a pool suddenly increases your chances of drowning.

A pool is dangerous by simply existing as a body of water. Anyone can drown by being careless or taking a single bad step.
Being careless with a gun requires several more steps. If those marchers had the presence of mind to keep their rifles unloaded and set to safe, the chances of an accident would be negligible.

Not zero, but we're down in "more likely to trip and drown in a pool while marching with your gun" territory.

/Keeping guns around as a society means guns are more likely to be used in altercations.
/But, by some views, the balance of firepower often keeps violence from starting.
/I mean, a street full of gun toting protestors is obviously a bad place to start an argument.
/fewer arguments mean fewer fights.
/Its long been my theory that, while Samuel Colt made men equal, its Darwin who made us polite.

Hey look!  A bunch of fat cowards!  Aren't they cute?
If you need to carry a weapon constantly to "prove your manhood", you have no manhood to show.  You are just another stupid porker with a weapon with absolutely no idea of how to truly protect yourself except to cower and hide.

way south: Keeping guns around as a society means guns are more likely to be used in altercations.

Crime statistics from Kennesaw, Georgia, prove you wrong.

years ago Kennesaw enacted an ordinance stating every household is required to have a firearm.  Unlike the dire predictions of shootouts in the street, Crime dropped 89%, compared to a 10% drop throughout the state.

Google it.
