Owwwwww...how much do those things weigh? I'd guess as light as the racing teams can make them, but still--that's a hard hit.

Yep.

I have a feeling that his stress level will be going down a lot once he changes over to Le Mans racing next year.

/Perhaps we need to just not allow anyone in pit lane.  After all, Marussia demonstrated their cars don't need drivers.

It's a shame those incidents never got captured on video. The pictures always remind me of this.

Exactly. Webber fans like to hand wave his situation as the result of "chronic bad luck." WTF do they think you need an overabundance of to even think about finishing an endurance race, let alone winning one. If he really is just a case of being highly skilled, but unlucky, rather than just overrated and politically inept, I suspect he's going to have a hell of a year or two in front of him.

He's not a terrible driver, though - just on the high side of the bell curve when it comes to recklessness.  He's also on pace for his fourth Top 5 finish in the standings.

He's had a bit of bad luck to hit his prime right as the sport became all about team position and a clear favorite driver.  I'd like to think that if he had been in Jenson Button's car the last five years, he could have snatched one of those titles from Vettel.

abhorrent1: Tyre?

They're taking on their archrival Sidon in the next match.

Yeah, I'm generally favorable to the guy and a bit anti-Vettel. Your assessment is fair. I've just been spending too much time reading /r/formula1. Still, I think his adjustment to WEC is going to be a bit more difficult than a lot of the F1-only crowd are assuming.
