(C|Net)   A proud day for Google Glass, as man captures the first fight followed by an arrest via Google Glass. Who knew a fight could happen on the Jersey Boardwalk, by the way?   (news.cnet.com) divider line 111

I'd get one if it had a death ray feature.

bmr68: Medic Zero: bmr68: Medic Zero: bmr68: No one in that busy crowd even looked at the guy wearing his Google Glass. Not even the cops who he walked up next to. The future versions will look less obvious. Tinted glass and or even designer models.

Once the cops get burned by a few videos of them beating helpless people for no reason like they do so often, they'll just confiscate ANY glasses they see when they are tuning someone up. Hell, in some places it's already illegal to videotape the police already.

SCOTUS ruled last November ruled that you can film the police any where you want as long as it's in public. Everyone has cameras, so the police have to suck it up and get with reality.

Dealt with any police in the past few decades? Mostly their policy seems to be for them to do whatever they want and let lawyers sort it out later. And by sort it out later, I mean pay off people who manage to succeed in suing the city that employs the pigs, while the cops continue to do whatever they want. Case in point: LA has a annual $10 million dollar fund for paying settlements for police brutality.

I have childhood friends who are NYPD and Suffolk County NY cops that are very professional.  Bad cops are the problem not the system.

And a man who is like a second father to me was a cop and my cousin is a cop. Bad cops aren't the problem, the cultures of their departments and society as a whole that allow these things to happen with an alarming regularity are the problem.

THIS.

It's not that all cops are bad. It's that the departments and governments ALLOW the bad cops to continue being bad, which makes the career an attractive choice for corrupt bullies.

avratt: That's 4 1/2 minutes lost forever.

No kidding huh?  and I didn't want to skip through the video and skip right over the actual fighting part, but found out there wasn't any fighting at all.

Lame video.

/Google goes gonzo!

I understand the desire for capturing all the sound, but I'm thinking, listening to that video, that maybe they need a directional mic in the mix too.  You could actually record both omni and uni separately and pic which one, (or mix) to use afterwards.

What I noticed was how many people were sporting backpacks. Dense crowds(in more ways than one), late in the evening. Maybe it's a Jersey Shore in the Summer thing, but it seemed like a lot of people carrying a lot of stuff around. I'd hate to be the poor guys trying to police that.
