I can imagine the conversation: "What! The deadline's TODAY?!?! shiat! Okay, okay, I'll get you something by noon."

I liked some of Colorado's earlier stuff but after awhile it got a little derivative and over-produced.  I'm into this new city now, you probably haven't heard of it...

They're certainly no Chicago or Boston.

Ohhh burn!  See that Denver, your city is so unimportant people don't even know its name or bother checking Wiki.  Plus, they assume it's in Canada.  Either that or we need better educational standards.

I think Rocky Mountains is a pretty cool guy.  eh legalized pot and doesn't afraid of anything.

Stay out of the great city of Colorado. It's terrible here. Nothing to do. So boring. Go to Texas instead.

2013-07-07 11:01:27 AM
Sooo, they couldn't list anything specific for LA, yet it's number 2?

Hmmmm......I'm thinking this article SUCKS!!

Los Angeles is a city that's all style, but it's also the one with the least amount of substance. To find the semblance of substance that it does have, you'll have to drive at least an hour to get to it.

EVERYWHERE IN LA TAKES TWENTY MINUTES!

I got all stabby reading that.

flucto: Colorado is an overrated city?

Some people rate the city of Colorado so highly that they think it's an entire state!  The fools.

2013-07-07 12:14:58 PM
Are there even 10 cities in Colorado?

4. NYCYou would think that New York City would be higher on the list, especially considering how big it is. However, that's the very reason why it's not higher. You can essentially hide yourself in a certain community and not feel as if you're not in New York at all. However, the city as a whole is overrated for a couple of reasons. It's expensive, rude, and boisterous. Yes, all the time.

1) you cant hide yourself in ANY community. This is why many celebrities have lived in NYC: you can just be part of the crowd a hell of lot easier than in LA.
2) Expensive, yes. So are Moscow, London, Tokyo, and LA. The entire state of Hawaii is expensive, frequently as much as NYC. Are they overrated because they are expensive?
3) Rude? We are rude to assholes, that's for sure. No tolerance for that shiat. And we sure have our share of assholes as well, but I haven't found anything out of line with other cities. You want rude, go to Boston, though I would say it's more "we're always pissed off about something" rather than just rude. Rude would be most of NJ. LA is more "biatchy" than rude.
4) Boisterous? Yes. That's like saying New Orleans is overrated because it is festive. It's kind of the point.

I seriously doubt that the person who "wrote" that has been in any of these cities.  It all seems to be based on the stereotype of the city ("Hurr durr Portland's full of hipsters!  New Yorkers are rude!  People in LA are shallow and have had tons of plastic surgery!)

And, yeah, listening Colorado as a city destroys what glimmer of credibilty the article might have had. Because, you know, Colorado Springs, Denver, and Boulder are exactly alike.

7. Colorado
6. Austin
5. Asheville
4. NYC

Tampa is cool. Still under the radar.

Chicago and Atlanta didn't make the cut?

2013-07-07 12:43:11 PM
The most remarkable thing about Colorado is that for as much snow as they receive annually, not a single person born there can drive in it to save their life.

2013-07-07 12:43:12 PM
Replace Colorado with Portland OR and you'd have a list I would agree with.

2013-07-07 12:43:32 PM
Lol Portland doesn't have any jobs! I saw it on TV! Lol!!

2013-07-07 12:43:55 PM
Portland, Austin, "Williamsburg", Silver Lake, Denver.

I would add Ashville but they've got the Biltmore and enough real NC around it to overcome the lesbian influence.

Eh, I'd rather go to downtown St Pete these days.

Jacksonville used to be the largest city in the United States, geographically.  Apparently, no more.  Not by a damned sight.

There was a time when Asheville was cool.  That was 30 years ago.  Now, it's like the Hamptons, but in the mountains and filled with the tackiest of Atlanta suburbanites.  If you like a traffic jam composed of Land Rovers and surrounded by mountains, then Asheville is for you.

JAGChem82: Chicago and Atlanta didn't make the cut?

No one thinks much of Atlanta to begin with so it's difficult to be overrated.

Went to NYC for the first time a few weeks ago for work.

Other than driving, I found every New Yorker to be great to talk to and work with. The people there left a good impression on me.

I spent some time in Asheville before backpacking on the AT. I thought it was cool and we really enjoyed hanging out at night with the locals, but holy shiat that traffic was terrible.

I'm surprised no Seattle on that list and I love Seattle.

Tampa is at least as sinister as Clearwater, or Tarpon Springs.

San Francisco should be higher on the list, if for nothing more than its proximity to Oakland.  Never understood the fascination there.

Austin (former Austin resident) and NYC should be off the list.  Both cities are greatness.  Writer is a dumba$$ in my opinion.

Call it a city, call it a state, but if you badmouth Colorado, fark you in the Poudre.
