If there are no atheists in foxholes, what kind of god does this thing worship?

2013-07-07 10:02:03 AM
Will this end up with it saving the lives of the people they thought it was trying to kill?
Also will it end up with an flight suited Jessica Biel?

So Navy Pilots are now on the endangered list, but five years playing Eve Online before enlistment will get you assigned to a carrier.

Pretty sweet.

I'm still kind of bitter that the X-47 got rescued from the scrap-heap when my X-45 was cancelled, even though ours was already flying and successfully performing simulated missions.  :-(

But, them's the breaks in the defense industry.  You either have the momentum of a charging rhino or a scrap of tissue paper.

Here's what the X-47B doesn't do: think. It doesn't generate its own orders or deviate from what it's been instructed to do unless human operators change those orders.

That's just want it wants us to think...

c) Skynet

Looking at the complete clusterfark of a fighter the F-35 has turned out to be I had hoped that the military had learned its lesson to never build another manned fixed wing aircraft ever again.  And I had hoped this was it.

It probably depends on the unit number.  Some are clearly monotheistic, while others appear to worship no god at all.

Either way, they'll all nuke us....just some will feel bad about it after the fact.

The problem isn't manned aircraft, its the people who use military projects as blank cheques to funnel money into their bank accounts. The F35 should of been two differant planes, one a carrier/ground based multi-role plane to replace the F18 and the Harrier 3.

I, for one, welcome our new,  unmanned, autonomous combat jet overlords.

/I coudn't tell if the ordinance will be held in internal bays, or if the jet had external pylons.

Ah, yes, it's OK, because we'll only ever use them on brown people.  Nothing to get uptight about, right?  This way, we can kill others without risking our lives, or even a significant amount of money!  That's win-win!

The wars of the future will not be fought on the battlefield or at sea. They will be fought in space, or possibly on top of a very tall mountain. In either case, most of the actual fighting will be done by small robots. And as you go forth today remember always your duty is clear: To build and maintain those robots.

When they do develop a combat-ready autonomous fighter jet, I look forward to hearing the explanatons of why it will cost several times more, rather than a fraction of, the cost of a manned fighter jet.

Because, and I guarantee this, that will be the deal.

Testify! Everyone knows that there's no way that a foreign intelligence service or supremely talented computer nerd could hack into the software of this killer drone and retask it. It's unpossible!

The X-47B is a technology demonstrator and is not destined for active service. There are two X-47Bs in existence today, and they are the only two that will ever exist.

What a load of bullshiat.  No, the test models will never enter active service.  The fully capable combat production models,  the F47 F*CKU, exactly copied, with upgrades, from X-47B's, will be in active service...but the name is different, so we didn't lie and it's all okay!
