So, the condom outfit wasn't worthy of being mentioned in the headline?  I'm sad.  It's kind of like the feeling I get when I start putting on a rubber and realize i've got it on inside out and now I have to make a fool of myself and pull it off and put it back on the right way.

I want that skull purse like burning. Several of the outfits are really architecturally interesting, but I hate that you can see most of the model's hipbones even through clothes. :/

In celebration of the condom, I suppose.

OK, I'm just about convinced the people who decide what women's "High Fashion" is are a bunch of gay guys who absolutely HATE HATE HATEthe female form.

That would explain all the anorexic models, as well as the bullshiat featured here.

Yeah, there is simply no other reason for this sort of nonsense.

There is also no other interpretation of that design... it's definitely a condom. One can only guess how the designer came up with that one.

Nah, I don't see hate at all.  I see a bunch of gay men who aren't aroused by female body parts and who want their "creations" to be the center of everyone's attention rather than titties and asses.  I mean, it's hard work to make a dress from thousands of bread twisty ties that tells the story of cultural diversity of sub Saharan Africa if Africa were on another planet filled with people that communicate via head pieces and the last thing you want is that message to be lost in translation because people can't take their eyes off the model's breasts.

Yes, it's sort of like seeing concept cars at autoshows.

The far more pedestrian and practical aspects will eventually be copied and trickle down to your price range anywhere in the USA 5, 10 years from now.

trappedspirit: Do they charge admission to these shows?  How are these things funded?  What perpetuates?

They're perpetuated by the fact that the people who make these clothes also make actual clothes that people would wear, if they can afford them.

The point of it is to come up with something new and totally off the wall that no one has ever done before, and in doing so they can occasionally stumble across what can become a big new trendy look, at least once the weird stuff that doesn't really work for people is stripped away, or at least is toned down.

The fashion designers are trolling us, right?  It's all a big farking joke.  No one could possibly be stupid enough to think that crap was designed to be worn in public.

2013-07-07 02:56:43 PM
You can take comfort in the fact that none of these nightmare creations will ever go into mass production.

Sometimes I admire the creativity of clothing designers -- though I want to pound the guy who created pleated front trousers for women -- but in other times I wonder how much LSD they took before creating a concept.

Remember parachute pants? That's another designer I think should have been skinned alive and have salt rubbed into him.

I feel sorry for the models who have to wear those monstrosities on the runway.
