I can jam & still be productive. I'm half-assedly working a budget right now.
It's funny the past few days I've been waking up & expecting a hangover. Then I realize "Hey. I'm well rested!"

I had a few drinks yesterday. I just have to remember how to have fun sober & drink responsibly. I've been blackout drunk several times this year.
Last summer one Sunday at 9am my vision went 'fresco', like those works of art made from little bits of tile. Weird.

blottoman: bionicjoe:

I had a few drinks yesterday. I just have to remember how to have fun sober & drink responsibly. I've been blackout drunk several times this year.
Last summer one Sunday at 9am my vision went 'fresco', like those works of art made from little bits of tile. Weird.

Lay of the absinthe.
j/k - good for you man

Well keep it, remember nothing in moderation is bad for you. Vodka before 4pm is bad and dark liquor before the sun goes down leads to problems.

/tequila before 9pm is bad too, unless its in a Bloody Maria.
//all rules are off if you have already been very physically active for most of the day, ie boxing hiking biking etc

Rules like this are silly. Some nights I didn't start drinking until 1am.
Waking up for work still drunk was my wake-up call (no pun intended).

Does dark liquor take daylight savings time into account?
Can you drink 24 hours a day above the arctic circle in the winter?

basically you can drink with whatever rules when you're young, but as you near middle age, that sh*t starts working differently.

Yeah, but up until last December I was working 3rd shift and I've never had a real good 'society clock'.
I rarely drink before 7pm at all. It's a matter of pacing and drinking so I don't dwell on tomorrow that was the problem.

Yea dark liquor for sure takes daylight savings time into account. The very northern areas with no sun for months at a time propose extreme problems for me...in contrast though I guess I would be "soberish" during the month or so when there is "no night"

Same thing here. Bible belt + horse country. Why be so wealthy to be so damn unhappy & boring?
I never left though.

I've found new motivation. The job thing is just a tool to get me where I want to go. I care nothing for careers, job titles, or anything. Just need to pay some bills for about 4-5 more years. I've always known 2 things: I will be wealthy. I will be a late-bloomer in life.

I always do shiat backwards. I left a desk job for a job with a service van and a tool bag. (And that paid off.)

my mom raised me in a southern baptist church but always admired Oral Roberts.  I thought from an early age that TV evangelists were just all kinds of f*cked up, but there is a kind of small town devout fundamentalist who believes that kind of sh*t will make them wealthy and on and on.  Ruined me on religion for forever.

soosh: nah, you get all manic when there is no night and do sh*t like go hiking at three in the morning.  you might as well be drunk.

I visited my friend in Norman Wells, NWT during the summer one year. It was weird not having the sun go down. It does make people crazy. They drank like maniacs and stayed up until all hours.

Just beautiful country, although it smelled pervasively of oil. The Mackenzie River was something to behold for a prairie boy like me.

Rules like this are silly. Some nights I didn't start drinking until 1am.
Waking up for work still drunk was my wake-up call (no pun intended).

Does dark liquor take daylight savings time into account?
Can you drink 24 hours a day above the arctic circle in the winter?

Yea dark liquor for sure takes daylight savings time into account. The very northern areas with no sun for months at a time propose extreme problems for me...in contrast though I guess I would be "soberish" during the month or so when there is "no night"

There are parts of Tulsa that are cool in an architectural way, but overall, I do not miss it.  If I had to move back to that area, I would go for southeast Texas through to Louisiana.

I hear ya. I'm a new Rocky Mountain transplant.

my wife moved to Alaska from Grand Junction.   I love the landscape of the high plateau, but my heart is in the swampy lands of the south.  my grandfather had a farm in southeast Oklahoma where I spent the best summers of my life.

brownlady79: Update: I don't think zongo music is actually a thing. The name of this group is the Zongo All-stars. They apparently play "Cali Cubano" and I was mildly annoyed. Probably because of my own local band who plays a similar type of music but with actual lyrics and is very good - Mento Buru.

Yeah yeah, I know, CSB

look into Baile Funk.   Screw those zongo freaks.

Yea dark liquor for sure takes daylight savings time into account. The very northern areas with no sun for months at a time propose extreme problems for me...in contrast though I guess I would be "soberish" during the month or so when there is "no night"

nah, you get all manic when there is no night and do sh*t like go hiking at three in the morning.  you might as well be drunk.

Point taken. I love it you mentioned ORU again soosh. I just left t town area, miss it and....

I've bad some good times down that way as well growing up. For a kid growing up hunting shooting and camping is good for the soul. As Long as you educate them

True, but my problem with radio shows like that is all the talking. I like a little info, but dammit I don't need a wikipedia update with each tune.

it's generally not specified.   we're really isolated in Juneau -- 900 miles north of Seattle, 700 miles south of Anchorage/Mat Su.   So most of what we get is locally grown in houses or out on islands.   it ranges from okay to where the f*ck are my knees good.   Last batch I got was from Hawaii, and it was great, except it gave me the worst munchies.
