That's funny.. When I read "...she pulled a fruit tray from under her blazer..." I thought she had pulled the fruit tray from under her SUV. Made the story more interesting.
2004-01-07 07:47:59 PM
I'm sure she was just doing research.
2004-01-07 08:05:38 PM
Villages News Network.

Damn, and I can only get CNN, FOX, ABC, CBS, and NBC.

I'm cancelling cable.
2004-01-07 08:10:16 PM
heh there's a story for "crime solvers"
2004-01-07 08:52:00 PM
Wow a news anchor for a community news channel, that's like one step up from public access. Then again it may not even be a paying position so maybe she was hungry and jonesing for a smoke?
2004-01-07 09:49:39 PM
I know Winona Ryder hasn't been doing so many great movies lately; but I had no idea she had sunk so far as to become a news anchor. So Sad.
2004-01-07 10:35:16 PM
Times are tough all over, but a fruit tray and cigarettes??
2004-01-07 10:55:47 PM
does she get to interview herself ?
2004-01-07 11:07:30 PM
well, we know what happens when people get out of line in the villages:

ROVER!!! NOOO!!! (loud roaring ensues)
2004-01-08 02:31:50 AM
for those, like me, who thought a blazer was either an SUV or one who blazes:

One entry found for blazer.

Main Entry: blazer
Pronunciation: 'blA-z&r
Function: noun
Date: circa 1635
1 : one that blazes
2 : a sports jacket often with notched collar and patch pockets

How do you get a fruit tray under there?
2004-01-08 02:32:41 AM
Hmmmm....That's some weird research for news piece. "Yes, security at Alberstons is very good indeed, however the security at other stores are laxed"...... $23 != "Publicity" && "$250 fine"
2004-01-08 02:34:50 AM
pass the bong. Tis one sux
2004-01-08 02:35:59 AM

2004-01-08 02:37:57 AM

2004-01-08 02:38:43 AM
Three cartons for sixteen bucks? Where the fark is this?
2004-01-08 02:45:46 AM
Mmmm... Dunhill. That's classy where I come from.
2004-01-08 02:45:59 AM
We don't just report the news, we ARE the news.
2004-01-08 02:48:23 AM
should have gotten a Florida tag.
2004-01-08 02:48:47 AM
Smoking gun, where are you?
2004-01-08 02:48:50 AM
Guess he really wanted to be on the news...

/got nothing...
2004-01-08 02:49:04 AM
If she was hardcore, she'd have shot her accuser in the face and then herself. THAT would be newsworthy. This is just kinda interesting. Her employer will bounce back and everything will be fine.
2004-01-08 02:53:54 AM
Wow, that's a dumb move. News anchors make bank -- even crappy ones make around 100K. She just flushed her career down the toilet.
2004-01-08 02:54:24 AM
Pales in comparison to some of the other stories linked from this site, (rust stained ceiling, caged kiddies). I say FL should be behind a wall. No exit
2004-01-08 02:56:31 AM
The story sucked, but did anyone notice the pic of Bridezilla on the right hand side of that page?

And to think, I only live 20 miles from this place...
2004-01-08 03:07:01 AM
Dang, I thought us college students had it rough with barely a few bucks left over after tuition fees. Those news anchors must be starving.

2004-01-08 03:19:48 AM
She could have at least stolen an hot cocoa sampler box
2004-01-08 03:30:12 AM
While her income is probably very modest, journalists make very little unless they hit the jackpot and reach the top, this is a classic girl crime.

Look at her sense of gimme gimme; nice looking woman, university diploma, star job even with no bucks, just gotta have that fruit tray. Hey, let's go back and get a pack of smokes, or maybe three.

Men tend to take out their aggro in intoxicating beverage, women prefer to pilfer.
2004-01-08 03:32:52 AM
Scum. All of 'em!
2004-01-08 03:33:46 AM

I am not a number, I am a free man!

By the way, where do you keep the fruit trays?

Be seeing you.
2004-01-08 03:55:35 AM
Eris made him do it! (That is why it was only $23 worth.)
2004-01-08 04:16:04 AM
ok, read the article everyone. It's a she...

Can you see the pimply faced checkout person....

"Ma'am, those are some nice melons you got there!"
"Are you smuggling raisons?"
"Nice yams!"
Insert "Hilarity causing" line here

I regret to inform the Farker community about the tragic loss of our dear Farker LiTeSp3eD.
He was involved in some sort of bizarre gardening accident.

my parents live in the villages

that place is farked up - the only thing that keeps me sane when I visit is happy hour every night 5-7.
2004-01-08 06:57:25 AM
holy crap. If she gets arrested 804 more times, she is going to tie Henry Earls record!
2004-01-08 06:57:44 AM
Since there are so many to be found in the Vilages, I find 'liberating' unattended golf carts provides for much amusement. However, they do not make for good amphibious vehicles.

Happy hour has certainly contributed to my enjoyment of testing the limits of those little electric powered conveyances.

I understand that anchors are not stinking rich, but what's up with crap like this? Fruit tray & nasty smokes?

Reminds me of an anchor (former anchor?) from Milwaukee that lives at Landmark on the Lake, a rather pricey high rise apartment who constantly wrote bad checks all over town. Last name Weeks - don't remember her first name. Being in the spotlight on a daily basis and committing theft or fraud routinely? I don't get it.

2004-01-08 08:49:40 AM
whiskeymike you mean Linease (sp) Weeks?

Any other Milwaukee folks here recognize this lady as Liz Talbot, formerly of Channel 18 news?

My grandparents used to live here. They moved in when it was called Orange Blossom Gardens and had one 9-hole golf course and one swimming pool.
